Available funding is slightly different if you:
• Study Social Work
• Study NHS Funded Courses (Nursing, Midwifery, Ologies etc)
• Are Domiciled elsewhere (Scotland, Northern Ireland, EU etc)

Tuition Fees
• £9,000 p.a. at Swansea University
• Tuition fee support available so no upfront cost
• All UK students will be entitled to a Tuition Fee Loan to
cover their fees (subject to meeting eligibility criteria)
• Welsh domiciled students can apply for Tuition Fee Grant
so amount borrowed will be £3,465 p.a.
• Funding is not ‘means tested’

Student Loan for Maintenance
• All students are entitled to a loan for maintenance (subject to meeting eligibility criteria)
• How much a student will receive will depend on where they study, household income, and the amount of grant received

Grant amounts and income thresholds for grant vary between England and Wales:
Maximum grant for students from England: £3,250 p.a. Maximum grant for students from Wales: £5,000 p.a.

And repaying it….
• Interest will be charged on a sliding scale up to a max of inflation+
3%
• Repayments begin when the graduate’s earnings exceed £21,000 pa
• Repayments are automatically deducted from earnings
• The level of repayment is 9% of any income over £21,000, i.e.
• Most graduates will not repay all of their loan – any unpaid loan is written off after 30 years
