Key academic progress indicators
• Maintain cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.5 (B) and obtain a grade of at least 2.5 (C+)for each course.
• You are advised to complete all your required coursework and submit your research proposal for the Dissertation Seminar by the end of Year 2 (part-time) and by middle of Year 2 (full-time).

• Don’t try to read everything or gather every bit of data
• Look for the shortcut rather than plowing through the middle of all the data
• Gather enough data to be credible• Remember that no argument is ever iron clad or
permanent• Focus on telling an interesting story, drawing on the
evidence for support rather than relying on it as the core of the story
• Remember that research is a stimulus for thought
