TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS
POST MODERN CITY DISTRICT - LOCATION MAP
Neighborhoods in these areas are moderately to greatly isolated
rom the city street grid, seng buildings in close proximity to a
ombinaon of parks, designated natural wetlands, and water.
Major boulevards which connect to the city street grid are straight,
while interior streets are curvilinear, do not connect to the city
treet grid, and oen terminate in cul-de-sacs. Although parcels are
moderately sized and residenal buildings are relavely consistent
n size, buildings are all detached with deeper setbacks on the front
nd sides creang a vague to non-existent street wall.
esidenal structures are exclusively single family and are located
nly on interior streets, while commercial uses are on major
oulevards. Residences are newer one to two stories in height,
avoring modern ranches, Post-Modern Colonial and Eclecc
tyles that are wood-framed with mixed cladding, pitched roofs,
ecorave pediments, squarish windows and slight porches or
ecessed entrances. Commercial buildings are modernist and
ciently spare in detail, typically one, but occasionally two stories
n height, and are fronted by moderately sized surface parking lots.
