GENERAL
18. ALL WORKS WITHIN THE EXISTING HIGHWAY SHALL BE CARRIED OUT FULLYIN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NEW WORKS AND STREET WORKS ACT 1991 ANDTO CHAPTER 8 OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNS MANUAL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALLPROVIDE, ERECT, MAINTAIN AND REMOVE UPON COMPLETION ALLTEMPORARY SIGNING REQUIRED FOR WORKS CARRIED OUT WITHIN THEHIGHWAY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LIAISE WITH NORFOLK COUNTYCOUNCIL WITH REGARD TO AGREEING APPROPRIATE METHODS OF TRAFFICMANAGEMENT.
19. THE REINSTATEMENT OF THE HIGHWAY SHALL BE CARRIED OUT FULLY INACCORDANCE WITH THE HAUC 'SPECIFICATION FOR THE REINSTATEMENTOF OPENINGS IN HIGHWAYS'. REINSTATEMENT SHALL BE PERMANENT (ONFIRST VISIT). TRENCH BACKFILL MATERIAL SHALL BE TYPE 1 GRANULARSUB-BASE.
20. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE STREET WORKS COORDINATORAND UTILITY COMPANIES THE APPROPRIATE 'N' NOTICES. UPONCOMPLETION OF THE WORKS THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THESTREET WORKS COORDINATOR THE APPROPRIATE 'R' NOTICE.
21. THE SURFACE COURSE ON THE ACCESS ROADS SHALL BE DEFERRED UNTILBUILDING WORK IS SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE. GULLY FRAMES ANDGRATES AND OTHER IRONWORK SHALL BE SET FLUSH WITH THE BINDERCOURSE AND RAISED AT THE TIME THE SURFACE COURSE IS LAID.
22. ALL ROAD SIGNS AND MARKINGS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TRAFFICSIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS.
23. BOTH THE DOMESTIC FOUL AND STORM WATER DRAINAGE SHALL BESUBJECT TO INSPECTIONS BY THE LOCAL BUILDING CONTROL OFFICER. THECONTRACTOR SHALL LIAISE WITH THE BUILDING INSPECTOR WITH REGARDTO MAKING INSPECTIONS AT THE APPROPRIATE STAGES OF THE WORK.

THE BASINS & DRAINAGESYSTEMS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE ALL STORMS UP TOAND INCLUDING THE 100YR + 40% EVENT.
2. ALL RUN-OFF FROM DOMESTIC ROOFS SHALL DRAIN VIA A SERIES OFGRAVITY SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEMS WHICH EACH OUTFALL TOCELLULAR SOAKAWAYS. 5. DOMESTIC FOUL SEWERAGE FROM THE DEVELOPMENT SHALL DRAIN VIA APRIVATE GRAVITY FOUL WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM WHICH SHALLDISCHARGE INTO A NEW PUBLIC SEWER WITHIN THE PROPOSEDADOPTABLE HIGHWAYS. THE NEW PUBLIC SEWER WILL BE OFFERED FORADOPTION TO ANGLIAN WATER AS PART OF A S104 AGREEMENT AND WILLBE SUBJECT TO A S106 CONNECTION AGREEMENT. STORM WATER
1. THE INITIAL SECTION OF THE ACCESS ROAD INTO THW DEVELOPMENT IS TOBE SIDE HUNG TO ALLOW RUN-OFF INTO AN ADJACENT SHALLOW SWALE.THIS SWALE TRANSPORTS WATER TO A SHALLOW INFILTRATION BASIN.RUN-OFF FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE ADOPTABLE HIGHWAY SHALLDRAIN VIA A GRAVITY SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM WHICHOUTFALLS TO A SHALLOW INFILTRATION BASIN. THE BASINS & DRAINAGESYSTEMS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE ALL STORMS UP TOAND INCLUDING THE 100YR + 40% EVENT.
2. ALL RUN-OFF FROM DOMESTIC ROOFS SHALL DRAIN VIA A SERIES OFGRAVITY SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEMS WHICH EACH OUTFALL TOCELLULAR SOAKAWAYS. THE SOAKAWAYS AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS ARE TOREMAIN PRIVATE AND HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE ALLSTORMS UP TO AND INCLUDING THE 100YR + 40% EVENT. WATER BUTTSARE TO BE PROVIDED TO EACH PROPERTY.
3. PRIVATE HARDSTANDINGS ARE TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN A PERMEABLEBLOCK PAVING ALLOWING ALL DISCHARGE TO INFILTRATE TO GROUND. THEPERMEABLE PAVING HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO ACCOMODATE ALL STORMSUP TO AND INCLUDING THE 100YR + 40% EVENT.
4. THE DESIGN OF EACH SOAKAWAY & THE PERMEABLE PAVING HAS BEENCALCULATED ON THE BASIS OF INFILTRATION TESTING UNDERTAKEN ONSITE IN ACCORDANCE WITH BRE 365. TEST PITS WHERE UNDERTAKEN INTHE VICINITY AND DEPTH OF THE PROPOSED INFILTRATION FEATURES.
FOUL WATER DRAINAGE
5. DOMESTIC FOUL SEWERAGE FROM THE DEVELOPMENT SHALL DRAIN VIA APRIVATE GRAVITY FOUL WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM WHICH SHALLDISCHARGE INTO A NEW PUBLIC SEWER WITHIN THE PROPOSEDADOPTABLE HIGHWAYS. THE NEW PUBLIC SEWER WILL BE OFFERED FORADOPTION TO ANGLIAN WATER AS PART OF A S104 AGREEMENT AND WILLBE SUBJECT TO A S106 CONNECTION AGREEMENT. THE NEW SEWER IS TOCONNECT TO THE EXISTING ANGLIAN WATER PUBLIC SYSTEM PRIOR TO THEPUMP STATION.
GENERAL
18. ALL WORKS WITHIN THE EXISTING HIGHWAY SHALL BE CARRIED OUT FULLYIN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NEW WORKS AND STREET WORKS ACT 1991 ANDTO CHAPTER 8 OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNS MANUAL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALLPROVIDE, ERECT, MAINTAIN AND REMOVE UPON COMPLETION ALLTEMPORARY SIGNING REQUIRED FOR WORKS CARRIED OUT WITHIN THEHIGHWAY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LIAISE WITH NORFOLK COUNTYCOUNCIL WITH REGARD TO AGREEING APPROPRIATE METHODS OF TRAFFICMANAGEMENT.
19. THE REINSTATEMENT OF THE HIGHWAY SHALL BE CARRIED OUT FULLY INACCORDANCE WITH THE HAUC 'SPECIFICATION FOR THE REINSTATEMENTOF OPENINGS IN HIGHWAYS'. REINSTATEMENT SHALL BE PERMANENT (ONFIRST VISIT). TRENCH BACKFILL MATERIAL SHALL BE TYPE 1 GRANULARSUB-BASE.
20. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE STREET WORKS COORDINATORAND UTILITY COMPANIES THE APPROPRIATE 'N' NOTICES. UPONCOMPLETION OF THE WORKS THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THESTREET WORKS COORDINATOR THE APPROPRIATE 'R' NOTICE.
21. THE SURFACE COURSE ON THE ACCESS ROADS SHALL BE DEFERRED UNTILBUILDING WORK IS SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE. GULLY FRAMES ANDGRATES AND OTHER IRONWORK SHALL BE SET FLUSH WITH THE BINDERCOURSE AND RAISED AT THE TIME THE SURFACE COURSE IS LAID.
22. ALL ROAD SIGNS AND MARKINGS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TRAFFICSIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS.
23. BOTH THE DOMESTIC FOUL AND STORM WATER DRAINAGE SHALL BESUBJECT TO INSPECTIONS BY THE LOCAL BUILDING CONTROL OFFICER. THECONTRACTOR SHALL LIAISE WITH THE BUILDING INSPECTOR WITH REGARDTO MAKING INSPECTIONS AT THE APPROPRIATE STAGES OF THE WORK.
24. ALL PROPRIETARY MATERIALS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITHTHE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS.
25. PROTECTION TO DOMESTIC SEWERS: WHERE THE COVER TO PIPES UNDERTRAFFICKED AREAS IS LESS THAN 900mm OR UNDER NONE TRAFFICKEDAREAS IS LESS THAN 600mm THE PIPELINE SHALL BE PROTECTED WITH AMIN 150mm THICK CONCRETE SURROUND (BED TYPE Z1).
26. PROTECTION TO SW HIGHWAY SEWERS: WHERE THE COVER TO PIPESUNDER TRAFFICKED OR LANDSCAPED AREAS IS LESS THAN 1200mm THEPIPELINE SHALL BE PROTECTED WITH A MIN 150mm THICK CONCRETESURROUND (BED TYPE Z1).

1.0 General Description
1.1 The site is a development of 23 residential units with respect to Broadland District Council Planning reference 20171386. The responsibility for the maintenance of the soakaways serving each individual dwelling and their associated parking space will rest with the owner / occupier.
1.2 The responsibility for the maintenance of the adoptable access road will be Norfolk County Council through a section 38 agreement.
1.3 All remaining communal areas including the infiltration basins will fall under the responsibility of a private management company.

3.0 Operation and Maintenance Activities
3.1 Operation and Maintenance Activity Categories Maintenance activities can be broadly defined as:
1) regular maintenance (including inspections)
2) occasional maintenance
3) remedial maintenance
There may also be initial one-off requirements sometimes referred to as “establishment maintenance”, particularly for planting (e.g. weeding and watering). Regular maintenance consists of basic tasks carried out to a frequent and predictable schedule, including inspections / monitoring, silt or oil removal if required more frequently than once per year, vegetation management, sweeping of surfaces and litter and debris removal.
Occasional maintenance comprises tasks that are likely to be required periodically, but on a much less frequent and predictable basis than the regular tasks (e.g. sediment removal or filter replacement). The table overleaf summarises the likely maintenance activities required for each SuDS component.
Remedial maintenance describes the intermittent tasks that may be required to rectify faults associated with the system, although the likelihood of faults can be minimised by good design, construction and regular maintenance activities. Where remedial work is found to be necessary, it is likely to be due to site-specific characteristics or unforeseen events, and so timings are difficult to predict. Remedial maintenance can comprise activities such as:
inlet and outlet repairs;
erosion repairs;
infiltration surface rehabilitation;
replacement of blocked filter materials / fabrics;
construction stage sediment removal (although this activity should have been undertaken before the start of the maintenance contract);
system rehabilitation immediately following a pollution event.
