District/Building MEAP Coordinators
• Before Testing
• Pre-ID students on BAA Secure Site
• Unselect students taking paper-and-pencil test
versions
• Work with IT staff to install MIST software
• Provide professional development on test
administration
• Develop test schedule

Additional time is necessary to log students onto MIST, complete class/roster code information (if used), read test directions to students, and answer student questions. (Note: the estimated times are based on the recommended times for paper-and-pencil tests.)
Overview of the Online MEAP Tests (cont.)
• Administered in two parts: Part 1 then Part 2
• These are untimed tests
• Administered to all students, excluding:
1. Students whose IEP, 504, or ELL Plan specify an
accommodated version of MEAP
2. Students whose IEP team determine that the online
assessment is not appropriate
3. Home-schooled students who do not have a UIC
• Students excluded from online testing take the
appropriate paper-and-pencil versions • All paper-and-pencil tests must be administered by 10/25/2013

• Set up a MIST Tester Station

Test Interruptions
• Work with Building Coordinator to troubleshoot:
1. Lost internet connectivity, computer malfunction
2. Fire drill, school emergency
3. Latency (slow processing)

• Mark a test Do Not Score, if necessary: • Test started – student moved to another school
• Test started – emergency test administered

Test Integrity and Security
• Log off of all applications before logging into
MIST.
• Students accessing the computer for any reason other
than taking the test must be marked with Student
Prohibited Behavior
• Ensure adequate spacing between work
stations—use visual barriers if necessary
