Tradition developing from Holly Bible
There were three sisters who were very poor and they cannot get married
Mikul went arround their house and gave each of them presents.
They did not know who was Mikul, and they were very happy to easilly find their grooms.
Our tradition on 5th December every year goes St. Mikul to our houses and gives us several sweet presents to everybody to live in well being...
How does he look like?
It is and old man with his white long beard
He has got long hole to knock on the window ( it is siver or golden)
He has got white or red long coat
He has got a lot of sweets in his basket

Nicholas helpers
The first helper is Old Nick
He has got dirty black face
Hes got long tail and long horns
His task is to take bad children to his sack to cary away to the hell with them.
He alway gives to children coals, wood, onion or garlic
Nicholas helpers

Nicholas second helper is an angel
His task is help to Nicholo give some gifts and protect children form Old Nick
Children usually sing songs to Nicholas or they are saying some carols
Sometimes bad children are crying but only those who are bad all the year!!!
This is inseparable couple!!!
St. Nocholas visit
We can meet St Nicholas in Slovakia 3 times
First time it is in the Theatre or in community center (see the picture above)
Second time hes comes with his helpers to our house
And third time he comes at night to give his presents to our boots...( we must clean our boots in the evening and we must give them to the window or to the fireplace..
