THOUGHTS ON THE JOURNEY
This morning, Northside Baptist Church welcomes Cody and Krystle Moore to our fellowship. Cody is here in view of a call to serve as the next Student Pastor of Northside Baptist Church. Cody and Krystle most recently served in LaGrange, Texas, but have also served in Avinger, Hughes Springs, Arp, and Snyder. Cody comes to us highly recommended and with a wealth of experience.
Cody and Krystle have three children – Abigail, Joshua, and Coraleigh – and have a fourth on the way. Their ministry approach is one that involves their whole family. Cody says, “We are both very passionate about serving the church and seeing a group of people come together and grow together. We want to be part of the overall church and not be a little subgroup. We are not your normal youth minister and youth minister’s wife. We are open books and want others to learn from our mistakes and hope others see Christ moving and working through our lives.”
Cody attended East Texas Baptist University, majoring in Religion with an Emphases on Youth, Children, and Administration. While completing the majority of this degree, he did not graduate (lacks about 20 hours). However, Cody is committed to life-long learning and has also visited with the Personnel Committee about their desire to see him complete this degree. Cody is in agreement with the committee and will seek to finish this task.
As we come together this morning to give consideration to extending a call to Cody and Krystle, please seek God’s will and guidance in this time. Remember, we do not merely vote to express our personal preferences, but we vote for the purpose of affirming God’s will for our church. It is our heartfelt belief that God desires to do something special amongst the youth of Victoria, and we believe Cody and Krystle are a vital part of that work.
Honored to be your pastor,
WELCOME TO NORTHSIDE
… Intentionally 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1
THE BIG IDEA: We must live our lives intentionally in order to reach others for the sake of the Kingdom. 1. Look for what is _______________________ (23a). 2. Look for what _______________________ (23b). 3. Seek the good of your _______________________ (24). 4. Be concerned about the __________________________ of
others (25-30). 5. Do what you do for the ___________________ of God (31). 6. Seek to ______________________ others (32-33). 7. Model ________________________ behavior (11:1).
Faith Walks
1. In what ways can you seek to be helpful and to build others up?
2. What does it mean to seek the good of your neighbor? 3. If we are concerned about the conscience of others, how will
it impact our decision making? 4. Is seeking the good of others, “so that they may be saved,”
enough motivation to live sacrificially?
This morning, Northside
Baptist Church welcomes Cody
and Krystle Moore to our
fellowship.
