Interview method
We wanted the choice model to follow the general logic of fares:
▪ We showed three client airline options with varying attributes and levels plus a fixed competitor concept*
▪ Client airline service level increases from left to right
▪ Client airline price level increases from left to right
This design guided respondents through the choice exercise – similar to a website guiding travellers through the buying process.
* Actually we showed two fixed concepts in rotating order. Each of these pairs was available from two airlines.
