There are four major record labels operating in the UK, these are: universal music group. Sony music entertainment,

Warner music group and EMI.

Challenges

Over recent years major record labels have had problems with people illegally downloading and sharing music. Last year the British music industry lost £414 million through these downloads. As these illegal downloads are becoming more and more available more people are downloading them, causing a major challenging for record companies.
