Spring Fair
This Friday October 30th, we will be having a “Spring
Fair”. This is like a school fete and will include lots of
stalls and fun activities from 2.15pm to 6.30pm in the
school playground.
Stalls include pass the ball,
sponge throwing, mystery
jars, plants, white
elephant, trash & treasure,
arts & crafts, gum boot
toss, face painting as well as a BBQ and a Jumping
Castle.
Parents are very welcome to donate goods and items to
our Spring Fair including clean jars, jars of homemade
jams or pickles; pots of herbs, plants, fruits or vegies
and any trash or treasure items for sale on a stall. ( it
might be an opportunity for a bit of a late spring clean
out).
We want to reduce the issue of “lost money” again this
year by having our fair mostly “cashless”.
The method for children buying or participating in stall
activities will be by ticket voucher only.
Pre-paid tickets will be available from the school in
50c lots. Parents can order books of tickets for the
children by completing the order form sent home
previously. Extra tickets will also be on sale in the
Gingerbread House on the day.
Some stalls and the BBQ will accept cash money on
the day.
There will be a Chocolate Wheel run on the hour with
chooks and meat trays up for grabs.
Year 6 will be drawing a raffle on the day. The P&C
will be running a BBQ with ice creams and drinks as
well so there will be food available the whole time.
We hope to see lots and lots of people there!
“Kookaburra March”
The re-enactment of the World War 1 “Kookaburra
March” will take place on Wednesday NEXT week at
around 1.00pm. All the boys and girls will go up to
Mayne St to line the footpath as the marchers come
past. They will all have small flags to wave. The
students will then follow the marchers around to
ANZAC Park for a short ceremony. The students will
be back at school by around 2.45pm.
Parents and community are very welcome to join in.
School Self Evaluation Program
Each year the school evaluates its programs and
processes. The usual manner of gathering information
is through surveys to parents, staff and students.
This year the major areas for evaluation include
Teaching & Learning and Maths.
Surveys will be sent home in the next few weeks.
Please assist the school by completing and returning
the surveys ASAP.
No names are attached to the surveys so you may be
quite frank in your comments.
Ten Dollar Circus, Bird Team & Paparazzi Club
News
Circus Training is on Mondays 3.30 -5.00pm in the
Hall. A reminder to students who attend to come
prepared to practise diligently to develop a good level
of skill.
All students in the school are allowed access to the
Paparazzi Club cameras if they ask. They must be used
responsibly and with care and returned at the end of
each break. If they don’t come back or if they are
broken through carelessness, this spoils it for everyone
else.
Gulgong Markets is on the 4th Saturday each month at
Coronation Park. Help is needed from 8.30 -1.00pm.
Free lunch is provided to those TDC & Paparazzi
students who come to help for the day. Next Markets
day is Saturday November 28th.
Coming Up: Paparazzi Club entries in the Western
Landcare NSW “Life and Light
in the Western Region”
photographic competition. The
theme is “Our Land – My
Home”. We will have a number
of entries for this competition.
