The Championship is registered with and is run under the rules of Australia’s governing body, DanceSport
Australia.
All adjudicators and competitors must be registered with DanceSport Australia.
The Championship caters for all ages with our youngest competitor being 6 years of age and our oldest
competitor over 65 years of age.
The very extensive levels / grades ensure that all dancers compete in a fair and disciplined competition.
Recreational Dancing is a new exciting form of competition and attracts over 100 entrants
Styles of Dance:
“Standard”: Modern Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz.
“Latin American”: Samba, Cuban Rumba, Paso Doble, Cha Cha, Jive.
“New Vogue” (Australia’s own sequence style of dance) There are 15 Championship dances and include,

The HBF Stadium is a very appropriate and attractive venue for our Championship.
Comfortable facilities which include big change rooms and warm up area and a very large
dance floor make it very attractive to all competitors.
The 1800-tiered seating provides clear viewing for all spectators and the cafes and bars
ensures that the venue is most suitable for our audience.
The organizing committee is very confident that we will have approximately 250 competitors
and 1,000 spectators in attendance.
The Championship is run by the Western Australian branch of DanceSport Australia
