Special Collections– Houses published research materials
including books, periodicals, maps and newspapers. The most heavily used of these materials relate to the history, culture, peoples, and resources of New Mexico; the broader Southwest and the Borderlands; and materials supporting specialized University programs.

Circulation Email Notification Request Fine/Fee Appeals Recall If the book you need is
already checked out, submit the online form to request the book be returned.
Renewals If your book is due, but you're not finished with it. Login to your account to select the item(s) you want to renew.
Circulation Reciprocal Borrowing
Information The UTEP agreement - allows students,
faculty, and staff of NMSU to borrow books directly from the library at the University of Texas at El Paso. Present your current NMSU ID at the UTEP Library circulation. Books belonging to the UTEP Library may be returned to either of the NMSU Library's circulation desks.
Passport - between most academic libraries in New Mexico, except UNM Medical Library. Students, faculty, and staff can borrow books directly when bearing a PASSPORT certificate. To obtain a certificate, stop by either NMSU Library circulation desk or fax a completed application to (575) 646-2610.

Reference DeskStaff members assist researchers with everything from requests for basic information to in-depth assistance with research papers and projects, using the Library’s extensive collection of print and online reference materials (specialized encyclopedias, bibliographies, statistical sources, etc.) and other information sources. The reference desk offers services in person, via phone, email, chat/IM, or by appointment.
