Level 2 Maintenance Mechanic (Technician) Job Description
GNB is a capitol equipment manufacturer of vacuum valves and chambers
We are currently looking for a candidate that has an Industrial Mechanic background,
Millright type background or Field Service Technician
Required Skills and Abilities: 1. Assemble valves and other vacuum hardware following drawings and work instructions
2. Ability to weld small items (GTAW) and run manual machines (lathe or a mill)
3. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic
troubleshooting,
4. Diagnoses faults and malfunctions, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
5. Perform Leak Tests using a Mass Spectrometer and Hydrostatic equipment
6. Clean, lubricate and prepare parts for assembly
7. Install bushings and bearings, insert rings pins are other fasteners using hand tools
8. Competency using power tools, electrical equipment and testing equipment (vacuum pumps, gauges,
sensors, residual gas analyzer, mass spectrometer, etc.)
9. Ability to work safely in an industrial environment and handle large materials (lift up to 50 pounds,
fork lift, crane competency)
10. Handle material safely
11. Participate in suggestions and continuous improvement ideas (do not complain)
12. Represent GNB in some customer relationships (quoting, discrepant material, field repairs, inquiries, etc.)
13. Ensure communication is representative of excellence

15. Offer suggestions of innovation and improvements to assembly and test processes
16. Available for overtime and weekend work when necessary

18. Perform to commitments regarding on-time delivery and completion of projects

20. Report to Assembly and Test Supervisor

Requested Experience and Knowledge: 1. 5+ years of experience in mechanical and technical position with experience with heavy equipment
2. Understanding and experience with PLC programming and electrical systems
3. Ability to read blueprints and apply basic math skills
4. Ability to accurately read manufacturing orders, drawing and instructions with minimal supervision
5. Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience or equivalent experience.
6. 2+ years of hands on experience in an organization utilizing vacuum technology (semiconductor,
metallurgical, solar, laboratory, etc.) preferred
7. Non Destructive Testing Certifications are a plus (Leak testing, Liquid penetrant testing, etc.)
