This Six Sigma Yellow Belt course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive
overview of the Six Sigma Process. Trainees will enhance their current skills by developing a
good understanding of the DEFINE - MEASURE - ANALYSE - IMPROVE – CONTROL (DMAIC)
methodology.
This powerful tool will enable your team to identify opportunities for improvement and assist
in the implementation of projects leading to efficiency. It is specially designed to equip key
personnel within your organization with the expertise needed to participate in projects led
by a Green Belt or even a Black Belt. Typically these individuals gather correct data, locate,
control and watch out for possible monetary loss in any area of the company, and report this
kind of information to Green Belts and Black Belts residing within the company.
If you have already invested in Green Belt and Black Belt training of key personnel in your
organization, then you should consider the benefits of cascading these same principles to
lower levels in your company, creating a culture for improvement from the floor up. Yellow
Belt training allows your personnel to become a valuable player within your company’s larger
goals and objectives
Six Sigma can deliver results in all types of organisations and industries – not only in
Engineering, Manufacturing and Assembly, but also in contact centres, the public sector,
including healthcare, and in the software industry. Introduce Six Sigma into your organisation
to achieve much increased efficiency and effectiveness, resulting in delighted customers.

Quite often organizations gather data, and review their KPI's at regular intervals, yet this
valuable information generally does not lead to significant cost reductions or increased
efficiency.
This Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt course is designed to provide your organisation with a fully
trained problem solver, who will be able to "read" the data, analyse it, and see in it
opportunities to not only solve problems, but also to lead cost reduction and/or efficiency
projects.
Trainees will enhance their current skills by developing a detailed understanding of the
DEFINE - MEASURE - ANALYSE - IMPROVE – CONTROL methodology.
The training is divided into 3 modules:
• Define / Measure Phase: 3 days
• Analyse Phase: 2 days
• Improve / Control Phase: 2 days
A gap of around 4 weeks between each module provides an opportunity for trainees to work
on a project within their workplace, applying the methodology learned during the previous
session's training. Extra support can be provided for the trainees with their project work.
All Green Belt participants will be given access to the Hewlett Packard Black Belt Toolbox, an
on-line manual of around 70 improvement tools; the toolbox is an invaluable resource that
Lean Six Sigma practitioners can use as a reference for when and how to apply the Six Sigma
tools.

In the 1980’s many started studying the secret of success of Japanese manufacturing
companies. They discovered that the most impressive "secret" was 5S. The factories
were so well organized that abnormal situations and waste were readily apparent. To
potential customers, the first impression was an environment conducive to quality and
consistency. 5S was one of the fundamental building blocks for an organization serious
about continuous improvement.
"Lean" thinking focuses on reducing waste and adding value to a process, by identifying
and removing the wasted and unnecessary effort, delays, costs, processes, inventory,
handling etc. The 5S approach lays the foundation to achieve this by standardizing
operational practices to ensure efficient, ergonomic, repeatable, safe ways of working.
This brings many benefits: higher quality, lower costs, reliable deliveries, increased
morale, and improved safety … to name but a few. This is because it leads to a highly
visual workplace, which makes Problems and Waste immediately obvious. It is therefore
one of the most powerful Lean Tools, and provides a stable foundation upon which to
build all of your other improvement programs, Lean Tools, and Practices. It is also one
of the simplest to implement, and can be applied within your manufacturing
environment, office processes, or even within a service industry.
This one day course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the 5S Process,
how to identify the 7 wastes, and how you can implement it in your organization.

This 8D course is built upon the approach to problem solving that has been standardized in
the Automotive and Pharmaceutical industry, and is now also being used across a broad
spectrum of industry.
It provides an 8-step problem solving process that focuses on identifying the real “root cause”
and therefore preventing problem recurrence. The methodology identifies the symptoms,
defines the problem, establishes the cause and takes action that solve, prevent and lead to
improvement.
This one-day, highly interactive workshop will provide you with all the skills you need to use
the 8D approach to Problem Solving. Delegates will use the 8D template to solve a real
problem as they go through the learning of all the individual tools. High emphasis is also
placed upon the soft skills of problem solving “team work”, as it is in this area that the high
impact benefits are won or lost.
Each participant will take away with them:
• A grounded understanding of the critical few tools for successful root cause problem
solving
• An 8D template that can be used in the workplace the next day
• Tips and suggestions for removing barriers and obstacles to problem solving
• Increased confidence due to the successful application of the method with a workshop
example
Who Would Benefit From This 8D Approach? This 8D approach is suitable for ALL types of
companies or organisations, not just manufacturing, but also public and voluntary sectors.

This training course is based around the PDCA (plan–do–check–act) management method
used in business for the control and continuous improvement of processes and products.
The methodology is successful by achieving small-step improvements, rather than
implementing one huge improvement. The Japanese use the term "kaizen" to describe this
process and it involves every level of the organization, from hourly workers to top-
management.
This course builds on these principles and will provide participants with a structured method
to manage change, using Lean Tools to identify opportunities for improvement, processes to
test and validate the proposed improvements, and how to implement and sustain them.
Then build upon the improvement achieved to further improve using the PDCA cycle time
and time again.

A process map is a visual tool used to illustrate your core processes. It's a
communication tool, a planning tool, and also a tool to drive unnecessary costs out of your
organisation. It is also a practical tool to help you identify and address core problems in your
organisation.
PROCESS MAPPING is an essential and critical stage in the search for performance
improvement. Yet the approach is not widely recognised or understood. PROCESS MAPPING
will help managers and staff alike discover where the real problems lie and identify the
opportunities for improvement.
Whether delivering a service or producing a product, successful organisations are in continual
pursuit of better, faster and cheaper. An agreed, accurate understanding of your processes
will provide new sources of rich stimulation for ideas to solve problems and find
improvements.
This course has been designed so that your business may use Process Mapping as THE TOOL
to drive improvement. The techniques explained in this practical "hands--on" workshop will
yield real, timely, and motivating results.

In today’s challenging financial environment there is a fundamental imperative for any
organisation to be able to develop a clear strategy for its future success and to deliver on this
strategy. The use of Strategy Maps and Balanced Scorecard enables organisations to clarify
their vision and strategy and translate them into actions at all levels within an organisation.
The aim of this session is to introduce the principles of Strategy Maps and the Balanced
Scorecard and show how they can be used to develop and align objectives and targets,
monitor performance and drive improvement. The session will include syndicate activity,
giving you an opportunity to begin constructing a Strategy Map and a Scorecard
This training workshop is suitable for senior and middle managers from any organisation.
Experience or prior knowledge, whilst helpful, is not required as this workshop is fully self-
contained. The focus is on how Scorecards are actually used in practice and in the workplace.
AGENDA
• Basic concepts of Strategy maps and the Balanced Scorecard and how they can be used
to improve organisation performance
• How Strategy Maps and the Balanced Scorecard apply to different types of
organizations
• How to build and implement a Strategy Map and Scorecard for your organisation

Value stream mapping (VSM) is a high level tool that enables a management team in a manufacturing environment to take a systems approach to implementing operational excellence and customer satisfaction. It is of most benefit when carried out in the design phase of process development. A VSM workshop is facilitated on an annual basis during which “one year’s worth” of projects is identified to further enhance customer service and process performance. Learning Objective and Deliverables At the end of this workshop participants will:
• understand the purpose and format of a high level value stream map; • have a physical detailed VSM for the product (order processing, planning, purchasing,
production, quality and distribution); • have identified measures of customer value in key processes; • have a list of prioritised issues and action items on which to work on during a one year
period, that will deliver a more robust, lower cost and customer friendly process, and • have identified key performance metrics, the achievement of which will help to
guarantee consistent delivery of customer value. The VSM forms the backbone of the continuous improvement roadmap for a product and will largely determine the project resources & training effort required over each year in the future. In a lean organisation the VSM workshop is repeated annually. Who should attend? VSM is facilitated with the product management team, with key operations, engineering, supply chain and operations team lead personnel also in attendance.

Toyota 8 step problem solving training will help all problem solvers to approach projects with a new found confidence. The 8 step process is highly interactive and collaborative in nature. The objective is to enable the problem solver to ‘find a problem, solve a problem and prevent a problem from coming back’. The 8 steps are written up or drawn on an A3 size sheet of paper. This encourages brevity and facilitates sharing of information amongst all stakeholders. Learning Objective At the end of the workshops the attendees will • have a common understanding of lean principles; • be enabled to use the formal A3 problem solving approach to improve process performance; • understand the value of cross-functional teamwork, and • be enthusiastic to use the skills they’ve learned and eager apply them in the workplace. The attendees will have a completed A3 of the workshop exercise at the end of the workshop. They will also have a partially completed A3 of the organisation’s process problem. This will be completed after the workshop.

The Six Sigma Green Belt is a specially trained team member within his or her function-
specific area of the organisation. This focus allows the Green Belt to work on small,
carefully defined Six Sigma projects, which require less than a Black Belt’s full-time
commitment.
Our Green Belt Training provides participants with strong problem-solving skills, with an
emphasis on the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) model.
The Green Belt has two primary tasks: first, to help successfully deploy Six Sigma
techniques, and second, to lead small-scale improvement projects within their respective
areas. In a support role, Green Belts can do much of the data-gathering analysis in support
of a Black Belt project. On the Green Belt course you will learn how to use many of the Six
Sigma problem-solving methods and statistical tools to contribute to the success of your
organisation.
On this six-day Six Sigma Green Belt course participants will complete a practical business
improvement project and pass a written multiple choice examination.
