Background InformationInefficiencies were discovered within Elite
Medical SupplyBiggest problem was a lack of technology
utilization to organize this growing company
We were hired, and created a Microsoft Access Database to solve these issues
Specifics of the ProblemInability to easily track customers who
haven’t paid for their productsHours are spent tracking down unpaid orders
and the contact information associated with the buyers/insurance companies
No way of tracking the products sold for a given time period w/o going through each individual paper record
Our Proposed SolutionOur database can track all details associated
with an order, such as customer details, insurance company details, products sold, price paid, etc.
It’s main purpose is to show the user who hasn’t paid in full for their order
This database can essentially eliminate the need for paper, with everything being tracked through the database
The ValueA more organized accounts receivable
department, with information that can be worked on by multiple employees, and be backed up off site.
A less labor intensive method for collecting overdue payments, meaning less overtime for an already overworked staff.
The information stored in the database can be used to extract information useful for your company.
Operation of DatabaseWhen an employee at Elite Medical processes
and order for a customer, they will either add a new customer to the database, or add an order to an existing customer.
When an order is placed, the price of all the products is calculated and a bill is created
When payment is received, it is recorded into the database, and the patient will no longer show as overdue.
ConclusionWe hope the database we have created will
help Elite Medical Supply continue to grow by utilizing advanced technology to eliminate inefficiencies within the company
