Kuchanga Travel - Adventure Travel
Kuchanga Travel works to develop lasting, mutually-beneficial relationships among people from
different cultures. Our travel experiences support the sustained empowerment of individuals and the
development of healthy and flourishing communities. In particular, we focus on connecting
"voluntourists" with projects benefiting women, children, and entrepreneurs. It has been shown that
when these groups in particular gain access to more social capital, more education, and more
opportunity, their entire society benefits.
The emergence of Africa's economies has seen fits and starts, but despite the challenges GDP is rising.
People there have so much to offer the world, and they're eager to gain greater access to the global
community. In 2012, we incorporated the Kuchanga Foundation to support engagement of African
communities by peers in the United States. As our Kuchanga Travel network grows, we also intend to
establish a for-profit investment fund for business and development opportunities.
Adventures
Kuchanga Travel packages travel experiences in Africa focused on volunteering, eco-adventure, wildlife
and cultural safaris, and investment. We shape these experiences according to your interests and in
partnership with schools, faith-based initiatives, business ventures, locally operated tour companies and
carefully-vetted NGO’s. Following our hearts, we seek out great opportunities for fun, fulfillment and
service. We also can help you organize your own initiatives by sharing contacts and insights, arranging
bookings and logistics, making connections with others sharing your interests, and preparing your party
for the experience of a lifetime!
Kuchanga Foundation
Kuchanga Foundation creates peer relationships between communities in the United States and
Africa; and supports educational, philanthropic and development initiatives that arise from these
relationships. Our US-based 501(c)3 organization was incorporated in 2012 and works in partnership
with nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions and volunteers.
Teaching & Orphan Care Programs
Kenya: Limuru Community Teaching and Orphanage Project
As a volunteer on this project you will be living just north of bustling Nairobi, amidst the beautiful
Kenyan highlands; teaching volunteers spend time providing much needed assistance with the often
understaffed, under-resourced and overcrowded educational establishments of the Limuru area. With
the help of volunteers, we aim to enrich the learning process for all involved by working closely with
teachers!
Zimbabwe: Victoria Falls Orphan Care and Teaching Project
As a volunteer, you will be a part of the orphanage’s mission to improve the quality of life of the
children, families, and caregivers living in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. You'll interact with children, provide
lessons, and give them the love and attention they deserve.
Wildlife Research & Conservation Projects
Zimbabwe: Victoria Falls Lion Rehabilitation and Conservation Project
As a volunteer on this project you will get involved in the vital research of lion behavior and enjoy
hands-on work with lions in the world’s only significant program for their release into the wild. In
addition, volunteers will be involved with a variety of fundamental conservation tasks!
