Kristyn Learns to Slow Down
By: Kristyn Keehnast
Good morning class.
Let me take attendance
before we begin.
I can’t wait until school is over so I
can go play kick the can with my friends!
Everyone please take out
your writing workbook
and complete page 14.
Tonight I would like you to
do page 15 for homework.
If I hurry through this practice,I can start working on my homeworkso I won’t have to do any at home.
Then I can go play right away!
I’m glad this is easy, now allI have to do is finish three more
problems and I won’t have tobring anything home!
Kristyn, how come
you’re not working on the
practice exercises I assigned?
Oh, I already finished those. They were easy.
May I please see your workbook?
See…I am all done and I finished before everyone else!
Kristyn, the point of these exercises is to
work on your handwriting skills.
When you rush through them,
I can’t read what you’ve written.
You’re going to have to do all the
exercises over and redo your homework
so that I can read your writing.
From now on you must take your time.
Being done first is not always best.
I know you have wonderful handwriting
when you don’t rush.
Hello
Kristyn…where
are you??
We’ve been home for
fifteen minutes and you
still aren’t here.
Go hop the fence.
We’re going to start
playing kick the can now.
Adam, I have to finish my
homework first.
I’ll call you when I’m done.
Almost there…I’llat least make it outside
to play one round!
Kristyn, how’s your
homework coming?
I just have to finishthis sentenceand I’m done!
Great. When you’re
done make sure you
clean up and put all
your papers in yourbackpack.
Then you can set
the table for dinner.
Dinner!Why are we
eating so early?
We eat at the same
Time every night.
It’s six o’clock.
Dinner will be
ready in five minutes.
I will never rush through my work again!
The
End
