It is kingdom on the East Bank of the River Jordan. Jordan also borders Saudi Arabia to the east and south-east, Iraq to the north-east, Syria to the north and the West Bank and Israel to the west. The capital of Jordan Amman. According to the CIA World Factbook, Jordan has the second highest life expectancy in the Middle East besides Israel. The average life expectancy is 80,05 years. Modern Jordan was founded in 1921,and it became independent in 1946.
WHO, AND WHAT:
In January, the Muslim
brotherhood encouraged people
in Jordan to protest the economy
and current state of government
WHEN:
On February 1, the Royal Palace
announced that King Abdullah II has
sacked the government as a
consequence of the street protests and
has asked Marouf al-Bakhit, an ex-army
general, to form a new cabinet.
