BROADBAND
El término “Broadband” es generalmente usado para describir sistemas o equipo de banda ancha que pueden llevar una gran parte del espectro electromagnético.Una comunicación de banda ancha acomoda el “Brodcast” (difusión) así como muchos otros servicios.En sistemas analógicos, el ancho de banda es dado en ciclos por segundo (Hz). RED DE COMUNICACIÓNES DE BANDA ANCHA
La definición de una red de comunicaciones de banda ancha consiste de 5 componentes básicos:1.- Localidad de subida satelital (Uplink). Sitio donde las señales son generadas o adquiridas para ser subidas al satélite para su transmisión a las localidades de cabecera final (Headend).2.- Localidad de Cabecera final local. Sitio donde son recibidas y descargadas las señales provenientes del satélite para ser procesadas para la distribución masiva a clientes.3.- Sistema de Distribución. Red o dispositivos de transmisión usado para entregar señales de video y audio (programación de canales) y/o datos digitales a los clientes.4.- Sistema de concentración/retransmisión. Localidad o dispositivos encargados de la concentración, recuperación, regeneración y retrasmisión de las señales del sistema de distribución.5.-Localidad del cliente. Localidad del suscriptor donde las señales son recibidas y presentadas para ser vistas, escuchadas o atendidas.

Transmisión de enlace satelital de subida
En una localidad de subida, las señales de canales de programación son procesadas con alguno o todos los procesos tales como Codificación, Encriptación, Compresión, etc. y transmitidas en la banda de 5.9 a 6.4 Ghz y 11.7 –12.2 Ghz a un satélite de órbita geoestacionaria sobre el ecuador (velocidad angular igual a la rotación de la tierra) a 36’000 Kms sobre la tierra dodne el satélite mantiene su posición relativa ajustada a la de la tierra) (equivalente a 3 veces la altura de crucero de un avión comercial de pasajeros).Un transpondedor a bordo del satélite convierte la señal a la banc C de 3.7 – 4.2 Ghz ó Banda Ku 11.7 – 12.2 Ghz y usando antenas direccionales estás son redirigidas a la tierra en la zona de cobertura designada a las localidades de cabecera final (Headend).

Procesamiento de la Señal
CONVERSION DE SEÑALES SATELITALES A RFEl la localidad de la cabecera, una antenda de la estación terrena satelital (ESA) recibe la señal, un bloque de bajo ruido (LNB) reconvierte la señal digital a banda L (950 – 1450 Mhz) y la encamina al equipo de procesamiento en el HE digital.
DECODIFICADOR DE SEÑALES ANALOGICASLa señal de Banda L es decodificada y demodulada en componentes de Audio y Video usando un receptor/decodificador satelital
MODULADOR DE RFEl modulador asigna el video y audio a portadoras seleccionadas (Canales de TV). La frecuencia Intermedia IF dela portadora de video es 45.75 Mhz y 41.25 Mhz para la portadora de audio. La relación de señal de salida del Audio Video esta revertida (Formato NTSC).

La función del nodo es la de Transreceptor donde recibe señal de la fibra óptica la cual viajalibre de distorsión, ruido o interferencia para hacer llegar la señal a lo largo de grandesdistancias, esta es reconviertida a señal de RF (50-870 Mhz) la cual se envía al sistema dedistribución vía cable coaxial la cuál será reacondicionada para viajar por líneas coaxialespara su distribución al usuario.
Se requieren básicamente 2 FO para la comunicación Full-Duplex, una FO del Hub al nodopara la transmisión del Broadcast en la ruta de “avanzada” (Forward) de video y/o datos yuna FO del nodo al Hub para la transmisión de la ruta de “retorno” (return) de datos.La señal de avanzada y retorno en RF viajan sobre el mismo cable coaxial.

Conclusiones
En el Forward, la ganancia unitaria se mantiene al ajustar cada amplificador con el mismonivel de salida.
En el Retorno, mantenemos el mismo criterio de ganancia unitaria de lo contrario lasseñales llegaran al láser (Nodo) con el nivel equivocado y como resultado se tendrádistorsión o una relación pobre de C/ N con el riesgo de degradar los datos.
Localización, si el punto de GU se selecciona erróneamente ocurrirán los mismosproblemas como si el ajuste de ganancia no se hubiera hecho correctamente.

Conclusiones
Se determina que el punto de ganancia unitaria es la entrada al puerto del amplificador.Para el híbrido de retorno el nivel de entrada es irrelevante mientras se garantice unnivel de entrada por arriba d la figura de ruido especificada (típicamente >3 dB sobre elNF).
Si el punto de ganancia unitaria fuera definido a la entrada del hibrido y no a la entradaal filtro diplexor o al puerto del amplificador en el retorno, el nivel de entrada al hibridoal ser constante internamente para todo tipo de amplificador causará que los niveles seen la planta se vean afectados forzando el equipo terminal necesite transmitir a nivelesmas altos para tratar de compensar las perdidas internas de los diferentesamplificadores. (Ej.: el nivel en el BTD es aprox. 9 dBmV mas que en el BLE y en el MB 5dBmV respecto al BLE).
Es indeseable tener que transmitir diferentes niveles desde los equipos terminales parapoder alimentar diferentes amplificadores.
Los niveles de planta son designados de tal forma que los equipos terminales operen asu nivel de salida mas alto posible, por lo tanto los niveles de planta tienen que serdisminuidos 9 dB si el punto de ganancia unitario es asignado a la entrada del hibridode retorno en lugar de la entrada del filtro diplexor.

Sugerencias de Mantenimiento
Todas las derivaciones con valor de 20dB o menos tienen que instalarse con terminadores de puerto (75 ohms) conservando de esta manera la ‘adaptación de impedancias’ en toda la red.
Las portadora piloto tienen que recibir mantenimiento (verificacion) diario en el HE, para asegurar que la operación del AGC (Control Automatico de Ganancia) en el campo es adecuada.
65% de los problemas estan relacionado con el cable de bajada al cliente.
15% de los problemas estan relacionados con el convertidor del cliente.
La calidad de los conectores de bajada influyen demasiado en los costos de mantenimiento.

Conecte el analizador de espectro al receptor de retorno y ajuste los controles de nivel dereferencia del SA para desplegar la salida esperada del receptor. El nivel de salida delreceptor es dependiente de la potencia optica recibida, el nivel del Tx de RF del retorno ylos ajustes de ganancia de los receptores internos.
2. Si el analizador tiene una salida de video, uselo para modular un canal abierto en el HE. Estecanal es usado por el receptor de TV en el monitor de campo los niveles de señal delreceptor de retorno en el HE.
Ajuste el generador por una salida plana y el nivel requerido en la entrada del transmisor deretorno. El nivel total de RF para el transmisor de retorno dependera del numero deportadoras inyectadas y el nivel especificado recomendado por el fabricante.
Compare la salida del receptor del retorno (Como se ve en el TV) para los niveles esperadosdados por el numero de portadoras probadas Los ajustes de gnancias dentro del nodopodrian ajustarse para ajuste antes de continuar en el primer amplificador en la cascada.
Una vez ajustados los niveles del nodo, continue en el primer apmlificador de la cascada.Los niveles de inyeccion estan basados en el nivel optimo de entrada al amplificador. Ajuste el
nivel de salida del generador de retorno igual al nivel de entrada optimo mas la perdidapasiva combinada del punto de prueba. Filtro diplexor, acopladores, etc..
La Ecualizacion y atenuacion seran desarrollados despues de que hayan sido ajustados los nivelesde entrada de los amplificadores. Inserte el ecualizador apropiado para un respuesta planavista en el receptor de TV. Atenue la salida del amplificador para referenciar los nivelesestablecidos en el HE.

Inyección en el NodoEs importante considerar la potencia de inyección de un número de señales a los Tx láser de acuerdo a su nivel de potencia por unidad de BW (energía por Hz) para no saturarlos (Cliping). Cuando tenemos un número determinado de servicios fluyendo en el RTN, tenemos una cantidad proporcional de energía que deberá ser inyectada, cuando incrementamos la cantidad de servicios también incrementamos dicha energía por lo que es imprescindible disminuir la potencia de entrada de todos estos servicios en proporción logarítmica (dB’s) para evitar la saturación del equipo.
RTNLas señales vienen de puntos diferentes por lo que hay que balancear toda la red para que todas las señales de los distintos puntos lleguen en un mismo nivel y poder garantizar el desempeño de la red.FWDLa ganancia del Nodo típicamente incluye 4 entradas de RTN combinadas, para lograr el máximo C/N es necesario asegurar que el nivel de la señal sea el mismo en las 4 ramas ajustando el atenuador común a la entrada del TX para evitar que cualquier señal de retorno lleve al transmisor a Cliping.

Ganancia Unitaria
Quiere decir que en cada salida de FWD y RTN de cada amplificador en la red o en una cascada de amplificadores siempre se va a manejar los mismos niveles de salida para compensar las perdidas involucradas en el transporte de la señal a través de su medió de comunicación.Ejemplo:Niveles de 40/52 para 860Mhz (donde la pendiente de 12dB’s es la diferencia del nivel de la pendiente entre el canal alto y el canal bajo a la salida de cada amplificador de RF) no importando el valor de llegada al siguiente amplificador en la cascada.En el retorno pasa lo mismo, sin importar el valor de la señal de entrada proveniente del amplificador previo, el valor de salida del amplificador en el retorno debe ser tal que compense las perdidas ocurridas y podamos recuperar el valor de referencia fijado en el HE.

Desempeño del RTNDe acuerdo a la teoría de operación, cuando combinamos pasivamente varias señales eléctricas, el C/N resultante será aproximado al enlace con el C/N mas bajo degradando el desempeño del resto de los enlaces ópticos.
En el HE vamos a tener distintas distancias a los nodos, hay que garantizar que todos los enlaces ópticos que llegan al HE tienen el mismo nivel, esto se puede lograr modificando las ganancias de los receptores, atenuando electrónicamente ó colocando atenuadores externos tipo FOAM para ajustar la salida de los TX a un mismo valor antes de ser combinados.
En el FWD, cuando se acaba la señal se requiere adecuarla nuevamente para mantener los niveles de ganancia unitaria a la salida a través de la red insertando un amplificador ecualizable (Ej. Salida 40/52).
En el retorno pasa lo mismo, se adecua la señal de salida dependiendo del valor de la señal de entrada recibida para cada amplificador previo directamente conectado a cada pierna del amplificador donde se realiza el balanceo.

Niveles por Considerar
Para determinar el nivel apropiado del transmisor para cada caja en casa y poder asegurar que las señales llegarán al amplificador en el nivel apropiado es necesario un entendimiento claro del AGC.Este se refiere al proceso de ajuste de los niveles de señal originada en la caja (CM) en casa a través de las instrucciones del demodulador en el HE (CMTS). La mayoría de los demoduladores miden el nivel de la señal de RF en su puerto de entrada (7). Si este nivel es incorrecto, es enviado un comando por FWD a través de Planta Externa hasta la caja pidiéndo incrementar o reducir su nivel. Para hacer esos ajustes, el demodulador se asegura que todas las señales de la Planta Externa llegarán al demodulador en el mismo nivel dentro de algún limite preciso.El control de ganancia se refiere al proceso de ajustar automáticamente el nivel.

Niveles a ser considerados en Planta Externa
El nivel en el puerto de entrada de la Ruta de Retorno de cada amplificador (3y4)•El nivel en la entrada del modulo láser de Ruta de Retorno (5) .•El nivel en la entrada al demodulador (7).
Estos 3 niveles están basados sobre criterios independientes, el primer paso es:1.Seleccionar el nivel ideal en los amplificadores (basado en el poder disponible del transmisor de la caja en la casa) contra la perdida máxima a través del cual la señal debe viajar en su camino al amplificador. 2.Seleccionar el nivel ideal en el modulo láser de la Ruta de Retorno basado en un rango dinámico y “Clipping” para un máximo desempeño C/N (de acuerdo a la especificación del fabricante). 3.Seleccionar el nivel ideal en el demodulador (de acuerdo a la especificación del fabricante). Una vez seleccionado, agregar la ganancia o la perdida para cada localidad para que esos 3 niveles ideales ocurran simultáneamente.4.Seleccionar el nivel ideal en el amplificador basado en la potencia disponible desde la caja en la casa (1) y la perdida entre la caja y el amplificador (2). Si distintos tipos de servicios serán cargados en la Ruta de Retorno, seleccionar el servicio cuya máxima potencia de transmisión es la menor.

Niveles a ser considerados en Planta Externa
De instancia, un cable MODEM podría tener una máxima potencia de +55dBmV. 1.Determinar la máxima perdida para llegar al amplificador. Para esto, 6 dB para los divisores y cable de acometida, 2 dB para el cable de tiraje interno y 23 dB para el Tap de mayor valore.2.Agregar los factores extras para las imprecisiones en el balanceo de Planta Externa y para cambios en ganancia como resultado de las variaciones por temperatura (típicamente 6 dB). En el peor caso, los +55dBmV llegarán al amplificador con:
55-6-2-23-6=18 dBmV. Por lo tanto, 18dBmV se escogerían como el nivel ideal para este servicio en el puerto del amplificador (3). Todas las cajas que en su camino tienen menos perdidas para transmitir recibirán instrucciones del ciclo extenso del demodulador (CMTS) desde el HE para ajustarse a sus niveles. Todas las cajas que exceden la máxima pérdida transmitirán a toda su potencia.
