As of May 05 the only insurer inAfghanistan is the essentially moribundAfghan National Insurance Company(ANIC) which is state owned. USAID has aprogram in place in an effort to privatizethe company, but in practice all coveragemust currently be placed offshore. ANICoffers a WC policy insuring an employersliability at law, coverage is generallybased on 12 months salary.
