The personal connection to accessible professors provided constant opportunities to gain invaluable experiences. I credit these experiences with the personal and professional growth I’ve seen in myself over the last four years. Marist put me on a path to success via knowledge, capability and a keen understanding of the limitless possibility my future now holds. “Imagine being at the forefront of it all — the 2016 Presidential Campaign Trail with the Marist Poll, gaining incomparable experience through internships at notable names in media in NYC, and having the chance to gain a global perspective as a study abroad student. Yet still being able to go home to a community where you’re surrounded by innovative minds of the next generation and professors who genuinely care. That was my four years at Marist College, a place where there is no limit on what you can do or who you can become. What will yours be?”

“My Marist professors challenged me to think big and pursue bold and innovative research. While participating in the Hansard Society Scholars Program in London, I was able to intern in the House of Commons and wrote a piece for the Huffington Post on behalf of one of the Members of Parliament I interned for. I applied to graduate schools across the United States with the help of my professors and advisers, in the hope of pursuing a PhD in early modern French history and was accepted with funding to Binghamton University’s combined MA/PhD program. I am thankful every day for all of the skills I learned at Marist and all of the support I received during my time there.”
— James Lavelle ‘18, Doctoral Candidate Binghamton University (SUNY)
“In my opinion, a good college consists of three things: the academics, the environment, and the professors. Marist offers all three. Academics, both challenging and interesting, helped guide me on a path to success. It not only prepared me for the future but gave me an upper leg on the competition, preparing its grads to be the very best in their field. The environment gave me the opportunity to explore different fields and obtain numerous hours of fieldwork. Finally, the professors: while at Marist, I had the privilege to learn from some amazing teachers. They not only taught the material in a meaningful way; they made it their priority that each student knew and understood it, always offering support to their students. Marist truly produces top grads and provides a meaningful college experience.”

“One thing I know for sure, time on the Marist campus flies by. One minute I was a freshman, the next an alumnus. Post-graduate life has treated me quite well, and I owe a great deal to Marist. They have definitely prepared me for the road ahead. The small class size allowed me to get to know my professors and gave me the individualized education I wanted. There were many amazing opportunities for travel and research, sometimes combined. Peer-reviewed articles are a very reachable goal at Marist and will make for an impressive addition to any résumé. I never knew that so many possibilities would lay before me and help me to secure a job before I walked for graduation.”
— Anthony Finocchiaro ‘18, Clinical Research Assistant Sports Medicine Shoulder Service, Hospital for Special Surgery
“The skills and experiences Marist offers both in and out of the classroom, partnered with the support of the Marist Center for Career Services, was invaluable to my success at Marist. The faculty and staff were passionate and invested in my personal and professional growth every step of the way. This led to leadership development, self-confidence, professionalism, and determination which helped me secure high-level internships and a career prior to graduation. Being able to access the network of alumni surrounding Marist continues to propel me forward in my professional life post-graduation.”
