Outcome: Est. largest empire Europe since Roman Empire!

C. Invasion of Russia:
1. Napoleon attacks due to grain trade w/Britain
2. “Scorched-Earth Policy” used to defeat French3. Cold weather & Disease force retreat
D. Austria, Britain, Russia, and Sweden form Grand Alliance1. defeat Napoleon at Battle of Nations (Oct. 1813)
Outcome: - April 1814 gives up throne - Sent to exile on island
of Elba off coast of Italy
VII.) Napoleon’s Comeback
A. Louis XVIII returns to Paris to rule as King of France
