Writer’s Night In at the DOO! Thanks to everyone who came along last Wednesday evening to view our students’ writing samples. There is some amazing writing happening across the school in every classroom and students were very proud to display their work. Our Annual School Improvement Plan aims to improve student outcomes by targeting growth in writing which is also a focus for Education NT.

Big Sis, Lil’ Sis Program visits Girls Academy at Taminmin College
Students in the Big Sis, Lil’ Sis Program visited the Girls Academy for their Friday Feed with
the Year 10 students. Ms Lateesha Jeffrey, Program Manager at Girls Academy introduced
our students to the Girls Academy program and students learnt how it supports the students
at Taminmin College in their learning and planning pathways for their future.
Friday Feed was especially fun with spaghetti bolognaise, quiche, spring rolls and laming-
tons on offer for the students to eat. They then made bracelets and played a range of board
games and activities.
Big Sis students will visit Girls Academy at Taminmin College again in Week 8 to participate
in a range of mentoring activities with the Year 10 students.

Calisthenics
NT Calisthenics Association recently held a display at Marrara Sports Stadium.
Humpty Doo Primary students participated in dance routines with their respective
clubs. Hannah Boucher-Hope, Hannah Wright and Cadence Abbott represented
the Dream Calisthenics Dance Club and Mikala Olajos and Kiril Tipo performing
for Top End Calisthenics Palmerston Dance Club. Dancers performed in rods,
free arm, marching and aesthetics dance routines and will perform in September
at the NTCA Team Competitions.
Last week all year 1/2’s visited the museum to look at objects from the past. Some of the objects they saw were an old ploughing hoe, washing board, old telephones and televisions. They also had lots of fun looking around the museum at all the other amazing exhibits.
During lunch over the past few weeks
there have been handball competitions.
Congratulations to the winners of the
competition.
