Safe Zone Training Part I: The ABCs of LGBTQ 10 a.m.–2 p.m. LPSC 325
day one of a two day training model aimed at creating informed allyship for dePaul’s LGbtQ communities, this four-hour session provides attendees with basic information regarding LGbtQ individuals. Queer (In)Justice: The Criminalization of LGBTQ People in the United States 1–2:30 p.m. LPSC 3244:30–6 p.m. LPSC 313
author and civil rights attorney Joey L. Mogul will discuss the history of the criminalization of LGbtQ people in the united States and share how this history continues to inform and impact the way LGbtQ people are policed, prosecuted and punished in the united States to this very day. The End of Poverty: Film and Discussion3–5 p.m. DPC 8005
narrated by Martin Sheen and featuring nobel Laureates Joseph Stiglitz and amartya Sen, the end of Poverty has been described as “a sort of ‘an Inconvenient truth’ for global economics.” It is the first film to succinctly explain how our economic system has created poverty and why it is the foundation for the current financial crisis.
