Examined the impacts of the project traffic and general traffic growth on the road network
Recommended mitigation measures to address impacts

Work To-Date
VPA, MoT and Delta Engineering have met several times to resolve technical issues relating to these improvements
• Improvement #1 – deleted due to Delta's concern of trucks taking Ladner Trunk Road to avoid tunnel congestion
Detailed design is underway for the other improvements

Improvement #2 - Capacity increase to Hwy 17/Ladner Trunk Road intersection
NOTE:
New eastbound thru lane is not proposed at this time
VPA is committing to provide should the intersection improvements not operate as good or better than today
Improvement #3 - Geometric changes in S-E quadrant of Ladner Interchange
Add acceleration lane to convert yield condition to merge condition
Improvement #4
Restriction of commercial vehicles to curb lanes
MoT has confirmed signage requirements
Delta Engineering to review/approve mounting of sign onto pedestrian overpass
VPA/MoT to circulate notice to trucking community
Expect completion before year end

Schedule (improvements 2, 3 & 4) Sept/Oct 07 – MoT field surveys
Oct 07 – Survey data review/design startup
Jan 08 – Detailed design completion
Jan/Feb 08 – MoT/Delta approvals
Feb/Mar 08 – Tender period
Mar 08 – Construction award/startup
June 08 – Construction completion
