HENNEPIN COUNTY ATTORNEY MIKEFREEMAN ENDORSES MARK ANDREWFOR MINNEAPOLIS MAYOR
Minneapolis, Minn - Hennepin County Attorney, Mike Freeman,
endorsed Mark Andrew for Minneapolis mayor today saying, "I worked
with Mark for many years, and I know the public safety of Minneapolis
will be in great hands under his leadership." Freeman, Hennepin County
Attorney from 1991 to 1999 and from 2007 to the present, worked
closely with Andrew from 1991 to 1999 during their overlapping terms
as County Attorney and Commissioner respectively.
"Public safety means ensuring every resident in every neighborhood of
Minneapolis can live a secure, healthy life, and I am determined to work
towards that goal as mayor," said Andrew. "I am honored to have the
support of Mike Freeman who has dedicated his life to serving the
people of Hennepin County."
During his tenure as Hennepin County Commissioner, Andrew worked
to improve child safety and welfare by focusing on prevention and early
intervention and by championing needle exchange programs in
Hennepin County as a proactive method to prevent HIV/AIDS
transmission. As mayor, he has pledged to ensure a safer Minneapolis
by focusing on improving the city's public safety infrastructure.
Mike Freeman has served as Hennepin County Attorney from 1991 to
1999 and from 2007 to the present. He also represented the 40th
Senate district from 1983 to 1991.
