CHANGES IN HEALTHCARE - INTERNALConstrained Staff Time – JCAHO report - By 2020, there will be at least 400,000 fewer

nurses available to provide care than will be needed.

Transparency and accountability – published data.

Core Measures - focus efforts on the use of data to improve the health care delivery process.

CMS - Readmission guidelines and Penalties – 30 day post discharge after a stay for three conditions: heart attack, pneumonia, and heart failure
