DATES OF NOTE OPENING DAY SCRAMBLE Wednesday, March 12th, 9:30am Shotgun 9 and 18 hole mixer followed by lunch and PLGA meeting
Opening Day Meeting: Please be ready to declare the tees you will be playing from this year. In order to play from the forward tees you must be at least 65 years of age or have a handicap index of 30 or higher with age and handicap equaling 95 or more. Tournament play will be based on your history of which tees you play from. If you move up to the forward tees, know that you have dropped approximately 6 strokes, so you need to take that into consideration before making that decision.
PATRIOT LADY Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27th
PLGA MEMBER - GUEST TOURNAMENT Saturday, May 17th (Rain Date May 18th)
LADY PATRIOT REVENGE Saturday-Sunday May 31-June 1st Helpful hints to speed up play: Do not wait in the cart if you can easily walk to
your ball. If using a distance finder, do not walk over to
your ball without taking a couple of clubs. Do not put your clubs away at each hole, instead
put them away at the next hole when someone else is teeing off.
Mark your scores at the next hole tee box so you do not hold people behind you up.
Do not stand behind the person teeing off or putting.

Your PGA instructor, Tommy Thomas, will provide you with the necessary tools to get out on the course with friends and enjoy this wonderful game. The program consists of five 1½-hour classes reviewing the following areas:
Proper Golf Course Etiquette Common Rules Putting Chipping Pitching Bunker Play Full Swing On-Course Instruction

TAKE IT
TO THE COURSE
Level 2 Program
Take it to the course is for GGR level 1 graduates and novice golfers that are interested in on-course instruction that will help make golf more fun and relaxing. One of the biggest reasons beginners don’t play more golf is anxiety and embarrassment. This is due to inexperience and lack of proper instruction. This class covers course management strategies, common rules, course etiquette and basic swing tips. The class consists of a short practice session on the range, followed by a few holes on the course with an instructor and golfers at the same level. A class will take approximately 1-½ hours.

Saturday April 5, 2014
Fellow Grand Harbor Patriots,
On behalf of the Grand Harbor Relay for Life Committee please let me encourage each one
of you to save this date.
This marks the 9th year we get together as a community to “honor” victims, those
currently “fighting” and to “celebrate” survivors of this terrible disease. We are having one
main event this year. This is a Grand Harbor member’s one day event here at the club.
Golfers you may form your own foursome or sign up at the club and we will pair you with a
team. Members may invite guests to join your foursome. Each group is required to be
accompanied by a Grand Harbor member.
More details coming soon!
Please save the date and form your team and join us in an important and meaningful
day. We’ll have additional information as the date draws closer. Save the date now,
please!
We must continue the fight against this horrific disease!
