BENEFITING THE
2018
CANCER RESEARCHIn Texas alone, The American Cancer Society is currently funding 58 grants totaling $35,473,250.
ACCESS TO CAREThrough Road to Recovery, Lodging Program, and our Patient Navigators who are available 24/7.
SUPPORTING CANCER SURVIVORSThrough free local programs like our wig program, Reach to Recovery, Look Good Feel Better, Personal Health Manager Kits and more.
INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONThrough our website, cancer.org, our 24/7 hotline 1-888-227-2345, and hundreds of informational brochures, books and pamphlets to offer information and support.
When you support the American Cancer Society, you join millions of others who have saddled up to fight to end cancer. Our lifesaving efforts have contributed to a 20 percent decline in cancer mortality rates since the early 1990s – a decrease that means we helped save 1.3 million birthdays in the United States. That’s a mission worth signing up for.
How we save lives, celebrate lives, and
lead the fight for a world
without cancer:
On behalf of our tireless volunteer committee, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude for your support of the 2018 Southeast Texas Cattle Baron’s Ball.
This year’s Ball will commemorate our community’s continued recovery from Hurricane Harvey, which devastated our region last year and caused many organizations like ours to cancel plans for critical fundraising efforts like this marquee event. And unfortunately, the needs of cancer patients do not stop when a natural disaster strikes.
But with your help, we are sure to come back “Texas Strong” with plans for an exciting Urban Cowboy theme, a delicious one-of-a-kind menu, and top-notch Nashville musical entertainment. What’s more, we will pay tribute to the Young Men’s Business League Organization for many years of loyal and generous support to the American Cancer Society.
We proudly invite you to be part of this special night by selecting one of many giving opportunities to support our life-saving mission, and help the American Cancer Society provide free services throughout an 8-county Southeast Texas region.
Thank you and bless you for your support.

Now in its 101st year of service and celebrating 75 years of the South Texas State Fair, the Young Men’s Business League proudly supports projects throughout Southeast Texas that improve the general welfare of its citizens in the fields of health and welfare, public works, civic improvement, governmental leadership and spiritual guidance.
“We are humbled and grateful to be selected as this year’s Honorees,” stated YMBL President Robert Jacobs. “The mission of the American Cancer Society is to eradicate an illness that has affected too many of us. Just as the YMBL works together to see many community projects through each year, we must all work together to find a cure for this disease.”
The members of the YMBL have been devoted and faithful sponsors of the Southeast Texas Cattle Baron’s Ball and the American Cancer Society for decades. We salute this fine organization for the outstanding work they perform and the lives they touch within our region each year.
