BIO: Dr. Kun Huang received BS degrees in Biological Science and Computer Science from Tsinghua Univ. and MS degrees in Physiology, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UIUC in 2004 with a focus on computer vision and machine learning. He has served as faculty in the Dept. of Biomedical Informatics, Director for Division of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and Associate Dean for Genome Informatics. at The Ohio State University. Currently he is the Chair for Genomic Data Science, Professor in Medicine, and Assistant Dean for Data Science at Indiana University School of Medicine. His research interests include bioimage informatics, computational patholology, translational bioinformatics, and integrative genomics. In addition, as the Director for Data Science and informatics for Precision Health Initiative at Indiana University, he oversees the development of the Data Science program as well as the Precision Health Data Commons. He is a Fellow of AIMBE.
