How EEIS Began• 2006 - Aquila engages Quantec to fix their
excel-based tracking system after it freezes…
• Tracking system for utilities:– Multiple implementers– Web-based interface
• Participants – refreshed regularly from utility db.• Equipment – one db alone has over 200k entries• Program rules – very complex; frequent tweaks.
• 2 utilities running programs across 7 territories
![Page 3: Generic Presentation EEIS](https://reader036.vdocuments.mx/reader036/viewer/2022062419/557a5e6ed8b42a6e5a8b508d/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
3
Market Evolution
• Excel spreadsheets for tracking single programs, to…
• Multi-state, multi-portfolio, multi-program implementations
• Integration of external databases, Treasury functions, project management and sophisticated real time analytics.

Integrated Tracking Perspective
EEIS tracks: Participant data
Baseline energy data
Customer calls
Energy audit &
education
Contract work
completed
Work approved
Energy Auditor
completes check
Revised energy data
Customer Satisfaction
survey completed
Implementer tracks deployment stages, not performance.
Piedmont CIS data
Equipment efficiency
data
Codes & Standards
EEIS tracks only data relevant to program performance from implementer and external databases.

How do we deploy EEIS?
Kickoff meeting: Program structure, rules & input pages.
EEIS configuration, and set-up including minor
customization Data maintenance & user support.
Documentation, training & user
acceptance
Major customization
Standard deployment: 1 1/2 to 2 monthsIncluding major customization approx. 2-3 months
Design phase InstallationTraining &
acceptanceFurther Customization & ongoing support

What Sets EEIS Apart• Capture, report and export of data required by utilities for
assessing the effectiveness of programs
• Real-time validation of both participants and equipment – this reduces errors and confusion for customers and the utility
• Sophisticated analytics to assess net energy savings, program costs - tracks programs against the utilities' key performance goals
• Flexible software allows accurate tracking for extremely complex programs
• Ad Hoc Reporting allows DSM program managers to design targeted queries that arrange data from unique perspectives
