NEEDED FOR GOD’S HELPING HANDS
November
Spaghetti Sauce & Peanut Butter
The current playground is being cleared away! Several volunteers from the church are taking the lead by removing the old parts and pieces and moving the benches out of the way. There are drawings of the new playground on display in front of the seekers class and on the wall in front of the water fountain in the hall between Chambers Hall and the church office. The playground installation is scheduled for the second week of December.
With the playground installation, Phase One of the Anvil Campaign will be complete. The sanctuary HVAC system is installed and working, the roof that extends from the parlor to the worship room is complete. After the generosity of God through your abundant gifts, a substantial portion of the cost has been covered. According to our financial secretary, the total draw from the bank loan is $105,000. As you recall, this balance is being addressed through our pledge and ongoing payments to the Anvil Campaign. Your generosity is helping us address the need.
We cannot become complacent, however. The substantial rainfall in October brought to our attention leaks and flaws in the roof on the edu-cational building. Your church leadership had hoped to put a year or two between the phases of the Anvil Campaign, but we may need to ad-dress this issue in 2016 or early 2017.
One of the many things for which I give thanks this month is the faithful-ness of this church in addressing the challenges we face. Be they prob-lems with the building or opportunities for ministry beyond our walls, Cayce UMC responds faithfully. May your Thanksgiving be a time of gratitude and blessing.
Peace, Joseph
Faith In Action
Continuing with the theme of adoption, this week we will focus on the more official form of adoption
where one must go through the courts and legality of adoption. There are many organizations that can
help people through the adoption process. One of these wonderful organizations that can help during
this time if you are thinking of beginning the adoption process is Bethany Christian Services. They are
located in Columbia and West Columbia. The services they offer include pregnancy support, infant
adoption, international adoption, foster care adoption, and post adoption support.

COAT DRIVE
The Girl Scout troop at our church will be having a coat drive during the whole month of November. They will be collect-
ing coats of all sixes and for all ages, babies through adults. We are asking for your help with bringing donated coats from
your homes. All of the coats will be donated to the children and families of Davis Early Childhood Center for this cold win-
ter season. We will have boxes at the church where you can put your donated coats. Thanks in advance for your support of
this project.
HELP NEEDED
For the past two years we as a church have provided the Airport Football Team with a pregame
meal. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to show our Love and support for our community.
Airport has had an outstanding year, going 9-1, and hosting North Myrtle Beach in the first round
of the playoffs. The head of the Eagle Club has asked us as a church, would we please provide a
meal for the team, if they make it to the third round. Pastor Joseph has approved this, if the proper
arrangements can be made. This means money, and people power. Of course this is not a budget-
ed item, so we have to raise the money, and get commitments from enough people to help set up,
and serve the meal. As of now, we have raised $300; we need $600, and six to eight people to
make this happen. What this means, CUMC will reach out to about 110 individuals that have
worked extremely hard, and long to get to this place. Young men and women, who will see the
Love of Jesus Christ through our hearts, and hands, we will pray with them, and witness to them
that they are loved, and special to Jesus, and their community. Unfortunately, for some of these
young men this will be the best meal of the week for them, again, what an opportunity to show the
love of Christ. If you are interested in helping financially, or physically, I can be reached at 730-
9343, or see Cynthia in the church office. If Airport does not make it to the third round, these
funds will be held in a church fund, and will be used for a meal next year during the regular season.
Thanks J.W.

Girls Rock Dress-Up & Jam Party
Come to the Girls Rock Dress-Up & Jam Party on November 28th 4:30-6 pm at Mt. Tabor Lu-
theran! Moms and daughters (ages 8-17) come dressed up like rock stars and we will do hair and
make-up! Musical instruments will be provided for girls to play with and a mini song-writing
lesson will be provided! Plus yummy snacks! At the end moms will have the opportunity to do-
nate money for scholarships so other girls can experience the empowerment offered by Girls
Rock Camp. To cover expenses for the event itself we do ask for a recommended donation of
$15 at the door for a mother/daughter pair and $20 for any group larger than two. However, this
is not required and all are welcome!
