Can PRINCE2®
Help Me Find Work ?
EXPERIENCE IN HELPING REDUNDANT PROFESSIONALS
PRINCE2® stands for Projects IN Controlled Environments, and is a process based method for
effective project management. PRINCE2® is used extensively by the UK Government and widely
recognised and used in the private sector across many industries including Construction, Banking &
Insurance. It is important to note that PRINCE2 is the defacto project management qualification /
standard with (1 million +) Qualified Practitioners World Wide.
From our extensive work in helping the redundant return to work through PRINCE2, we would recommend
this qualification to anyone who has previous experience as a Team Leader / Project Manager or who has
been involved in Project delivery. It is not essential that you have a degree or previous qualifications in order
to sit the course and attain the qualification. As long as you have a good understanding of the English
language and are motivated, you run a 99% chance of passing to Foundation and a 89% chance of passing at
Practitioner. We have attained these pass rates over the past year with learners who have not sat any other
formal qualification for some 20 years, so don’t worry if you have exam nerves, we are used to getting people
like you through the course and feeling confident to use PRINCE2 to find work.

One Persons Story
How I found Employment with
PRINCE2®
Lisa
“I am 42 and previously worked for the “Department of Culture Media and Sport” for
24 years as a Senior Policy Adviser”. “However, during 2011 I was made redundant
as part of the Government’s Austerity Programme”.
“I was instructed by my Job Centre to undertake
re-training”.
“I selected PRINCE2 Accredited Training through
Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) an Adult
Learning Provider under the European Social
Fund”.
I thought a Change of
Career in my 40s would
be impossible
“I knew little about PRINCE2 other than it could open
doors if I wanted to change career and become a
Project Manager”.
“I sat the two week course and managed, along with
the rest of my group, to pass my PRINCE2 Founda-
tion & Practitioner”.
“I then attended Balance Global’s How to Find Em-
ployment with PRINCE2 Course”.
“I was a little bit sceptical about the value of the course because from previous experience these courses often con-
centrate on the development of low level CV skills which I already have”. “I discovered I was wrong ! This course
was as important as the accreditation itself because it gave me help in the following areas” :-
• How to speak “Simplified PRINCE2” at interview
• How to reshape my CV to look and sound like a confident Project Manager.
• How to prepare for the different types of Project Management Interview & win.
• Advice on the different sources of project management vacancies in the public sector.
• How to tailor PRINCE2 to simplify its implementation and retain my Job in that all important 3 month probation
period.
After a couple of interviews I secured a Project Manager’s job with the Children’s Society. Once there I found
PRINCE2 really helped in the set-up of my Child Support Project (non IT related) in the following areas:-
• Better Stakeholder Engagement & Management Skills.
• Access to a “Painting by numbers” approach to the setup of my first project.
• Skills in developing my first realistic project plan & progress report.
• Gave me the necessary process knowledge to control “Project Scope Creep”.
I am delighted to say I found Project
Management work within 3 months
I now love my new job for a socially responsible cause & the opportunity to be a PRINCE2 Project Management Professional.
Thanks Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) & Balance!

In these challenging times one of the most important things we can do at Balance Global is to
provide our customers with quality products at a value for money price. We can do this by
applying best practice to our own organisation, making sure we understand our clients’
needs, matching appropriate solutions to those needs and exploiting new technologies.
Our corporate values are:
• To practice what we teach – how can we teach best practice if we don’t practice it
ourselves?
• A passion for excellence – we are enthusiastic about ensuring our courses are of the
highest quality using interactive exercises to cater for different learning styles and
reinforce learning.
• Learn from experience – We have considerable experience in running projects and
delivering training. We believe that sharing our experiences speeds up learning and our
trainers bring their hands-on project and programme management experience to the
courses they deliver.
• Continued professional development - we can only bring modern techniques and methods
to our clients if we, as an organisation, keep learning ourselves. We therefore continuously
research new ideas and concepts and encourage our clients to do the same.
• Provide good take-away value – we aren’t interested in just teaching theory and achieving
exam passes, although they are important. We want our clients to be able to make a
difference in their workplace, hence the after care support we provide.
• Global accessibility – we aim to make our materials available to clients at times and in ways
that suit them. We therefore continuously look to exploit technology for new methods of
delivery, we make sure the language used is as jargon-free as possible and provide out-of
hours solutions.
