HOW DOES IT WORK? This system of RomanizedSaskt has been widely used for at least 75 years. However it has not been propagated much, nor wasthere a simple method of teaching it. Thus not manypeople have taken advantage of it so far. Although itlooks like English, it is perfectly phonetic, just like Tamiland other Indian languages.
This method removes the fear and need of having tolearn innumerable new alphabets, rules and patterns.
Also, all hidden rules are transformed simple visualsymbols.
Thus the learning of Saskt becomes absolutely easyand FUN for all ages.
Learning to pronounce the worlds most advanced andcomplex language has never been so simple and fast.

PHONETICS BUILDS I.Q.
English spelling is not phonetic. Therefore, in dictionaries, after each
word we find symbols in bracketswhich tell how the word should bepronounced.
Eg. (From R. Digest Dictionary)come /km /
It's written 'c' but pronounced as a 'k'.This doesn't happen in Indian languagedictionaries - the spelling itself isperfectly phonetic. In other words,
you pronounce each syllable as it'swritten.
Such confusion in English is animpediment to learning. ModernMontessori teachers have realized thatchildrens learning ability becomesinhibited by the fear of makingmistakes if a child is told that heswrong if he writes k-a-t for cat,
when in fact hes right. Furtherconfusion arises because vowelschange their sounds (or becomesilent{?}) without warning. Just seethese:
Eg: Worn; warn; yarn.
Worn; work; wont; wood; food.
Co-opt; com; come; comet; cow; coo.
In Indian languages, each vowelhas one and only one sound no matter
where it may appear,by itself or in aword. It has been shown scientificallythat learning phonetics boosts hearingand memory, thus increasing ones I.Q.Therefore in Montessories, they teach
young children phonics but notspelling (which serves no practicalfunction!)until they are older.
A CULTURED PERSONS SPEECH
Our speech is one of the mostimportant assets that we possess. As
wise men have said, The well-dressedfool remains undiscovered so long ashe does not speak.
Refine your speech by participatingin the Simplified Romanized Saskt(SRS) course which promises toenhance your speech in all languages.
SRS: A BOON FOR HINDUS
All mantras that Hindus use forprayer, such as O nama ivya,
vakra tua mah kya.., and onamo bhagavate vsudevya etc. areall Saskt. This short course willenable Hindus to chant them
accurately with confidence andabsorption.
Hindus can learn to recite ourscripture the Bhagavad Gt daily forpurification and enlightenment, just asMuslims recite the Koran and Christiansrecite the Bible. The philosophy ofthe Gt is very deep indeed, but anycommon man can get deep insights ifhe reads from the Gt every day. Inour scriptures, this is calledswadhyya, a prescribed daily duty
for all Hindus. Most Hindu parents and leaders are
aware of the appallingly low levels ofspiritual knowledge amongst Hindus
which leads to masses being convertedto other relgions. Learning topronounce the Saskt alphabet is thekey to knowledge and the ancient
wisdom of our ancestors, because allour Hindu scriptures are recorded inSaskt. As Mother Magalam,President of the Pure Life Society, says
emphatically, If every Hindu child istaught the Bhagavad Gt, there is nodoubt the child will deepen its faith inHinduism. We are failing in our dutyas a parent if we do not teach our owntreasured shastras (scriptures) to our
children.

INDIAS CULTURAL HERITAGE
All Indian languages are writtenphonetically, so they are natural andeasy to learn. Amongst the greatlanguages of India, Tamil and Sanskritstand out as the oldest and mosthighly developed. Both of them aredesigned languages, from which allthe other global languages have beenderived or evolved. This fact isaccepted by most professors oflinguistics today. Language, therefore, is one of Mother Indiasgreatest contributions to humancivilization.
The study of Linguistics in the West
was unknown till the first book ofSanskrit grammar translated intoEnglish reached the shores of
England. Today linguistics is studiedin all major Western universities.
LANGUAGE & CULTURE
Sadly, perhaps as a combinedconsequence of British colonializationand urbanization, many well-educatedIndians of today cannot read or writetheir mother tongues, although theymay be able to speak them. Therefore, they lose out ondeveloping their phonetic skills, andworse still, become alienated fromtheir own culture and heritage. Asthe Malay proverb says: when alanguage dies, a culture dies
EASY WAY TO LEARN TAMIL ETC.The discovery of this new method ofteaching Romanized Sanskrit by Dina-Anukampana Das is a major break-through that can help people(especially the English educatedmasses) to pick up reading theirmother tongues easily. The vastnumber of characters (alphabets) tobe memorized in Indian languages isa major stumbling block forbeginners. This problem is side-stepped in Romanized script because
it uses merely 35 letters (a fewdiacritical marks are added to thealready familiar 26 Roman alphabets)to cover all the sounds.
The unique exercises which Dina hasdeveloped are remarkably effectiveand very enjoyable for all ages. It issimilar to the way a child learnslanguages with no books. It can bestbe described as: transforming allhidden rules which one shouldremember, recognize and apply, into
visual symbols and patterns whichone can see and spontaneouslyapply. His techniques produceamazing results within weeks and canbe adapted for teaching Tamil andother Indian languages too.
Students will learn how to pronounceall Sanskrit words with confidence. They will learn to spontaneouslyapply the hidden rules that governhow to break words into syllables, and they will learn precisely where toplace their tongue to produce each
sound accurately. This leads tosharpness of hearing and improvedmemory.
