Absorption of Water Vapor in Plastics Solid material can absorb and release water vapor which is essential to consider
in condensation, fluid film, moisture analyses— Requires specifying Diffusion coefficients of water vapor (can be Temperature dependent) as
additional property of solid medium— Uses Equilibrium concentration which can be defined via Solubility or Concentration ratio
(Y) for humid air and water film— Pre-defined Polycarbonate has absorption properties
Water sorption: Experimental [1] weight gain (m/msat) data compared to FloEFD simulation results. Here z – thickness of the piece.

Linked Conditions from Components Re-use conditions (i.e. material settings, heat sources, etc.) from other
component’s projects of an assembly.— By default conditions are added linked, so changing settings in a component’s
project updates the main assembly project — You can move condition to the assembly project to break the link

Transient Explorer Selected parameters can be saved instead of saving full results at specified time
moments to reduce the transient result data size— Sophisticated (wavelet based) compression algorithm can achieve 10x compression than zip.
Example: For a headlight, 10 parameters are saved every 2nd iteration, total size = 3 Gb.
— Compression factor decreased with increasing variability of the field, number of cells and frequent saving of intermediate full results

Transient Explorer Instant transient data access for selected parameters is available via Transient
Explorer Mode— To activate: Results, Transient Explorer— Supported for Cut plots, Surface plots (exc. 3D Plot, and gradient vectors),
Probes, XY Plots, Goals (shown as widgets), Min/Max table— Adjusting slider’s start and finish time to focus on a particular time interval— Linear interpolation between time moments can be optionally enabled

Radiation Source:Intensity Dependent on Angle, Spectrum For directional sources Radiation Intensity distribution
(called Pattern) can now be defined as a function of angle— Axisymmetric to the main direction defined as either normal to face
or vector
Radiation Spectrum can now be set for a radiation source (both diffusive and directional)
— Ability to define spectrum for LED source— Ability to model radiation from a laser diodes

Radiation based SAR In addition of the current SAR in the fluid area the refinement in solid due
to radiation criteria is added— Solid cell refinement occurs in cells where either incident radiant flux is high or incident
number of rays is large— This allows to automatically refine mesh in areas of hot spots caused by focusing on lens.
Therefore it leads to more accurate prediction of the maximum temperature in the spot— Monte Carlo radiation model only
Hot spot is not refined:T max = 180 C
Hot spot is refined:T max = 450 C

Enhanced LED Non-linear dependency of the voltage, the radiant flux and the
luminous flux on the temperature (as Temperature Table) is added in addition to the current linear dependency (via sensitivity factor)

Mesh Settings. New Channel Refinement New additional option to ensure uniform mesh in channels of different height.
Standard (old) Channel Refinement ensures specified Number of cells across the channel using whatever refinement is needed.
This may lead to a non uniform mesh in channels with coarser cells in the middle
The new option ensures specified refinement level across the channel regardless of number of cells to be generated.
This makes uniform mesh in the channels of specified height.
You can set different refinement levels for different heights as a table function.
