LED LightsThe LED is a miniature light source encased
in a plastic lens (Schubert, Gessmann and Kim, 2001). A flow of electric current excites the electrons inside the diodes. This causes the solid state semiconductor (no filaments to burn out) to release photons, producing a cold white light that generates no heat (Holonyak, 2000).
LED Technology vs. HalogenNo Heat Production- Cool White LightNo Fan and Noise productionLow Energy Consumption <20wLower Maintenance Cost
Light Bulbs last 10X longer than a halogenBrighter more consistent Light DistributionNO UV Rays
Direct vs. Indirect Reflector
Direct LED
Direct vs. Indirect Reflector
Less expensive and easier to manufactureEasier Focusing and less possibility of
coming out of focusMore crisp light pattern
Direct vs. Indirect ReflectorIndirect Reflector
Direct vs. Indirect Reflector Benefits of Indirect Reflector- Shadow less light production- Better for surgeries- Polaris LED light
- 10 LEDS reflecting on independent parabola with 10 prisms or facets on each reflector producing 100 individual light fields- 1 light bulb burns out can still produce good quality
light

Management System
Cure Safe ModeCuring of Composites, bonding of Veneers
Polaris – Lower light intensity and increase color temperature to mix colors
Anti-polymerization Filter
Autoclavable Handle
-Aluminium handle with plastic sleeve that can disconnect and be autoclavable
Polaris BenefitsHigh CRI >90“The ability of a light source to accurately
render all frequencies of its color spectrum when compared to a perfect reference light of a similar type (color temperature)”
