1. Information Advice and Guidance - Walsall deaf peo ple’s centre - UK
OBJECTIVES:
Provide Deaf people, excluded from adult education, with access to information
and Lifelong Learning through deaf advisers. The Walsall Deaf Peoples
Centre won support from the UK government to develop a learning package;

INNOVATION:
1. The 1° programme aimed at giving deaf people recognised
qualifications in an information field.
2. Very simple and easy to follow practical course
3. devise an assessment procedure that relied on interview and video
evidence rather than written reports
SUCCES OBTAINED:
- Participants enrolled, passed the course;
- Deaf people giving the correct learning path can succeed in gaining
professional qualifications;
- Deaf organizations gained Matrix accreditation in providing Information
Advice and Guidance to deaf people.

2. ELearning for Adults – Kelidon Association – ITALY
OBJECTIVES: The project consists in establishing a partnership medium where best practises related to vocational systems, eLearning theory and practice, online courses, software platforms, etc. can be shared , always within the context of formulating a model for provi ding quality and efficient eLearning solutions .
TARGET GROUPS: adult eLearning teachers, tutors and learners, using new technologies for teaching and learning

2. E-Learning for Adults – Kelidon Association – ITALY
INNOVATION:• Teaching eLearning to adult teachers and students using an e-Platform created ad
‘hock’ for the purpose;• A project website where it is possible to gather and collect further info about
eLearning. • Teachers and learners could autonomously access the online learning material and
use it in a simple and intuitive way .
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- …a big “repository of information about eLearning accessible anywhere, by anyone in
the world (language: Italian, Turkish, English, Latvian)- However….not enough used …In most of cases…people who have small experience
with new technologies need to become confident in accessing the e-tool. A first face-to-face meeting in order to learn “how to access technology” is needed.

3. ELBA – Electronic Book for Adults – Kelidon Associati on –
OBJECTIVES: To study a piece of literature of a 20th century poetical anthology of Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania and Italy and elaborate an electronic version of the anthology, in an electronic book format in order to incorporate it into some digital libraries.
TARGET GROUPS: people living in rural areas, women, disadvantaged people, unemployed and elderly people, and as secondary target: citizens, adult education institutions, local authorities.

INNOVATION: 1. A first unique piece of European anthology of the 20th century 2. Accessible online anytime, anywhere, by anyone3. Accessible freely4. Disseminated in the online public digital libraries
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- Direct involvement of adult students into the project,- Awareness of adult people to the use of new technologies for learning,- Learning new cultures through the web.

4. IALL – Internet for Autonomous Lifelong Learning – Ke lidon Association –
OBJECTIVES: The project aims at using Internet to help adult learners get access to basic education (e.g.: language learning, ICT, basic mathematics knowledge, writing skills) and develop subsequent lifelong learning activities, while improving their personal and/or professional skills.

4. IALL – Internet for Autonomous Lifelong Learning – Ke lidon Association –
INNOVATION:1. Autonomous and free access to a database training offers and materials (ICT, english
language, communication, culture…)2. Easy to search through a web form3. Anytime, anywhere learning4. Use of informal online learning tools (games, quizzes, exercises..)
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- Students accessed the tool and found it very useful for learning english and ICT.
However they needed to be supported by a teacher at the beginning,- A first face-to-face meeting is needed in order to gain confidence with the tool…- The use of more informal tools was preferred..

5. SEE EU TOOL - Science Teachers innovative education on Renewable Energy – Kelidon Association –
OBJECTIVES: to develop a complex training tool-curriculum (eLearning package, training methodology, CD, hard copy manual, exercises, texts etc…) enabling teachers to rise the pupils’ interest on science and technology by promoting sustainable energy in practical-orientated training.

INNOVATION:1. Direct involvement of teachers and students in the creation of the
curriculum,2. Detection of the “real needs” of science teachers,3. Curriculum activities very much linked with the daily practice of teachers4. Use of a novel teaching method in eLearning , supporting more active
learning,5. Creating an online learning group
SUCCESS OBTAINED:The blended testing of some modules of the curriculum showed how science teachers:- Learned more in online groups than by themselves,- Exchanged more information among colleagues,- Produced assignment very much linked with their daily practice of teachers.

6. Principle of radio protection in Lombardy Region – C EFASS –ITALY
OBJECTIVES: the improvement of the radioprotection acquaintances, through blended courses, Evidence-Based-Education (EBE). Each course is formed by an eLearning part (individual learning – content & support) and an interactive videoconference (collaborative and team-based learning).
TARGET GROUPS: Nurses, Radiologic Physicians, Neuroradiologic Physicians, Radioterapist, Sanitary Physicists, Medical Nuclear Physicians, qualifiedpeople and so on..

INNOVATION:1. Use of simplified text, diagrams, images..2. Cost effectiveness of the training3. Possibility to compare different scientific and cultural positions,4. Training anytime, anywhere..
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- Functionality and simplicity of the eLearning platform, user friendly for over 50
people- Creation of a call center service for providing support and help to participants,- High quality of training.

OBJECTIVES: Answer generic educative and digital literacy needs through eLearning solutions as well as the promotion of a solid environment for long life learning in information society. Provide society with high quality & low cost educational material.

INNOVATION:1. eLane was based in several sub-projects like:
- Platform, methodology, content , demonstrators- Demonstrators are defined according to the kind of users, the content,
the methodology, the course area, the available tools and so on…2. Support of different eLearning standard..
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- Use of special platform functionality (content repository, forum, glossary, group
activity design..)- the platform was adapted according to the final users’ needs..- however, trainers still needed to learning how to involve more actively
participants into the online learning experience

8. CompeTIC - Generalitat Valenciana - SPAIN
OBJECTIVES: to provide access to Internet and a website to the SMEs.The CompeTIC programme placed every SME in the Valencia Region on
Internet and make them be at the forefront of development of TICsolutions

INNOVATION:1. To promote a better commercialization and improve competitivity
among SMEs2. Multi-generator of websites,3. Complete control panel to manager indicator
SUCCESS OBTAINED:- 1629 websites were created in different commercial sectors..- 4902 SMEs registered- 177 town councils joined the programme

9. INTERNAUTA Generalitat Valenciana
OBJECTIVES: achieve that the citizens of the Valencia Region use the internet in an intelligent way
TARGET GROUPS:groups at risk of digital exclusion:-Women over 30-Men over 40-Retired-Disabled-Immigrants-Long-term patients-Rural areas

9. INTERNAUTA Generalitat ValencianaINNOVATION:1. Training material, which is: interactive, friendly, attractive and easy to use . 2. Classrooms Management Platform3. External Web: Access Portal and programme promotion (News, surveys, available
contents, users validation with permission,)4. Once the training stage is over, Internauta shall help citizens to overcome other
possible barriers in the access to the Information Society and to take their first steps on the Internet.
SUCCESS OBTAINED :- 70,608 Citizens enrolled- The Internauta Scheme has been acknowledged as the best initiative from a Public
Administration that looks out for the citizen’s well- The bigger number of participants were among 30 and 60 years old- The majority of participants were women- Around 60% of participants judged as “appropriate” the training received and from 70%
to 80% would like to take another course on an higher level
..CONCLUDING…
9 European eLearning projects were analysed in i-AFIEL
All of them dealt with the use of new technology for lifelong learning
The target groups were varied: disadvantaged people, women, SMEs, elderly people..etc..
Each project brought a different degreeof innovation into i-AFIEL
Each project obtained a different degreeof success
