MISSION Faith Communities in Action (FCIA) is a network of faith
communities, community-based organizations, and government agencies that foster countywide interfaith, government, community and non-profit organization communications and cooperation to build and strengthen a healthy, safe, respectful and caring community.
Clergy and Leadership Council (CLC) facilitates faith community:
a. communications and relationships; b. access to resources; c. engagement in strengthening, developing and
sustaining community resources; d. engagement in coordinated and collaborative
community action; ande. promotion and facilitation of community well-
being .

COMMUNITY INTERFAITH COORDINATION
Community Interfaith Coordination (CIC) supports to work of Faith Communities in Action and the Fairfax County Clergy and Leadership Council
CIC is a program unit within the Countywide Service Integration and Planning Management Division within the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS)

Mission
Serve as conduit between the faith community and county government agencies and non profit organizations which focus on disaster preparation, response, and recovery. Enhances houses of worship knowledge of and communication and coordination with public and private emergency response agencies, and promotes active engagement in congregant and community preparedness, response, and recovery.

FAITH COMMUNITY EMERGENCY ALERT NETWORK
A network of Fairfax County houses of worship who have agreed to appoint two staff or members to receive emergency alerts from Fairfax County and the Faith Communities in Action Interfaith Emergency Management Steering Committee. The house of worship representatives agree to be responsible for relaying these alert messages to their respective faith communities’ clergy, staff and membership to maximize preparedness, response and recovery before, during and after an emergency or disaster.

READY, PACK, GO CAMPAING
A train the trainer curriculum and on-line tool kit used for house of worships’ preparation of congregants for emergencies and disasters. This tool kit is available on line at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dsm/cil/emergency.htm

CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS PLANNING
On-line training assistance to houses of worship in the development of a Continuity of Operations Plan

FAIRFAX COUNTY COMMUNITY CHAPLAIN CORPS
Recruit, background check, and train clergy to become credentialed as Fairfax County Community Chaplains. Chaplains are deployed by Fairfax County to Mass Care Emergency Shelters, Family Assistance Centers, Service Information Centers and Volunteer Reception Centers. Chaplains also respond to Fairfax County Police requests for chaplain support at incidences of suicide or sudden death.
