THE Australian share market andmetropolitan property markets arestrong but there is concern the realeconomy in regional centers likeKatherine will continue to face sig-nificant headwinds, according toleading business consultant and com-mentator Damian Morgan.
“The small business environment
is still tough in regional centers, asthere is more competition than everbefore and consumers are still cau-tious,” he said.
The Katherine market is chang-ing at a faster pace each year, withlocal proprietors now competingwith online competitors from aroundthe world and the warning is to be
careful of complacency. “The worst thing to do is put your
head in the sand,” Mr Morgan said. “These are long-term structural
changes that require businesses toadapt.
“Business owners need to be tak-ing action to make the most of theirlocal advantage but the key is how to
do that.“Small business owners under-
stand risk; the key is knowing whichrisks to take to stay on top of changeand ahead of your competitors.”
