The Regional Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against ships (ReCAAP) came into force on 4 Sep 2006 when the 10th member state acceded to the Agreement.

The ReCAAP-Information Sharing Centre was launched on 29 Nov 2006 with 14 member states.
