To its south liesChairman Mao's Memorial Hall. We visited The ChineseRevolutionary Museum and the Chinese History Museum whichare standing to the east of the square, the Great Hall of the Peopleto the west and the magnificent Heavenly Peace Gate Tower to thenorth. Complete Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony. The InnerPalace includes the Palace of Heavenly Purity, the Hall of Prosperity, the Hall of Earthly Peace and the Imperial Garden. There are four gates at each corners of the walls:- The MeridianGate to the south, the Gate of Divine Military Genius to the north,
the East Flowery Gate to the east and the West Flowery Gate to thewest. The Gate of Divine Military Genius was the gate connectingthe imperial palace with the market area to the north of the palace. It is the largest gate of the Forbidden City and surmounted by fivepavilions. The central pavilion is rectangular in shape, while theother four, two on each side are square and hence the nickname is"The Five Phoenix Tower".The Meridian Gate was so named because the Chinese emperorsbelieved that they lived in the center of the universe, and theMeridian Line went through the Forbidden City.
The Imperial Palace is the largest museum in China; it preservesmore than 900,000 priceless antiques covering all dynasties ofChinese history. It has been recognized as the biggest and mostimportant treasury house of Chinese culture and arts in the world. After visiting the Forbidden City we ate lunch at The OrientalPlaza Food Court. Oriental Plaza is on the corner of Wangfujing, one of the city's main shopping streets, near Tiananmen and theForbidden City. The food court is on the bottom floor. There isalmost every type of Chinese food - Sichuan, Cantonese, hotplate, dim sum, noodles and all sorts of regional specialities. We paid less
than us$10 per person. After the lunch we went to see the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven, (Tiantan), literally the Altar of Heaven, islocated in the Chongwen district in the south part of Beijing, about6km away from the center of the city. It was built in 1420 during atime when many other important structures were constructed inBeijing. Tiantan is a complex ofTaoist buildings served as a place ofceremony and ritual for the Ming and Qing emperors. In the evening we went out to enjoy Beijing's famous Peking(Beijing) Duck. The restaurant is more expensive than average we
paid about US$20 per person. It is placed in No. 32, QianmenAvenue, Xuanwu District. The place is very close to TiananmenSquare which means not difficult to locate.

Unfortunately, within 6 hours after modernoxygen crept into the tomb, everything that had been mummifieddissipated. March and April, when ice covering the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau begins
to melt, more than 20 kinds of migrating birds fly to the island to
breed. During that period, flocks of birds shelter the whole island
and bird eggs can be found everywhere. Visitors can hear bird's

of Taiyuan City.
It was built in 1918 and opened to the public in 1919.
In the museum there are 100,000 items of historical relics andrevolutionary relics.
We love museums therefore we stayed there until three o'clock and
we also ate there lunch.
When we finished we took a bus to Xian's
Ancient city wall which is one of the
most complete city walls that have
survived through China's long history. This
wall was built by Zhu Yuanzhang, the first
emperor, in order tokeep out bandits and
barbarians.
We were there until six o'clock and then we went to our new hotel:
Grand Castle Hotel which is located right next to the city wall.
After we were settled in the hotel we went to seethe Tang

that showcases the costumes, music and dancing of China's golden
age: the Tang dynasty.
The guard there told us that one of the highlights of the show is a
solo performance by a classical musician who plays the ancient "pai
xiao" flute. We were sure its going to be amazing and it really was.
At ten o'clock we went back to the hotel
to sleep.

Sites we visited:
Everest Base Camp
Restaurants where we ate:
Breakfast- In the Everest Base Camp at the sunrise.
Lunch- Next to the rivers.Dinner- A local restaurant in Shigatse.
Accommodations:Shigatse Hote
In the early morning we were driven to the Everest Base Camp to
see the sunrise and then to do a little trek. The Everest region (or Solu Khumbu region, as it is locally known)is the second most popular trekking area in Nepal (the Annapurna isthe first). The popularity of this region is derived, of course, from itsproximity to the world's highest mountain, but also from its Sherpapeople and buddhist monasteries.Of the trek's strongest difficulties are it's up-and-down walking(resulting from crossing ridges instead of walking along them) andit's steep gain of altitude.Although the trek is named the Everest Base Camp trek, the main
highlight of the trek is the walk up to Kala Pattar ("Black Rock")peak, a magnificent view point at 5545 meters, offering astonishingviews of Mt. Everest and it's surrounding mountain peaks. The trek takes you along the Dudh Kosi, Bhote Kosi and ImjaKola rivers, all with blueish melted glacier water, past beautifulwater streams and, below 4000 meters, beautiful green forests withmuch wild life. Past the tree line, above 4000 meters, the greenpastures fade away and pass control to rocky "moon-like"surroundings. After lunch we returned to Shigatse.
