During this semester in the Health Academy the class was divided into groups to come up with skits to show children why it is important to wash their hands and when and how they should do it. As a class we went to various grade schools in Wichita and gave the skits to third graders and younger. During the skits we showed the children the germs that were on their hands with a black light. When finished with the skit we would talk some with the children and see if they had questions or answers to questions that we had for them. After this we would pass out toothbrushes, soap, and coloring pages for the children to take home. It was a great experience for the children and it was a great experience for our class in a whole. We had to be able to relate with the children as one in healthcare would have to with a patient to be able to help them and teach them the importance of such little things.

FINAL REFLECTION The St. Gianna Catholic
Health Academy was a great experience. I really enjoyed the semester that I spent taking this class. It was
hard to fit in my schedule, but I am very glad to have
taken this class. The rotations were interesting
and the experience was unforgettable.
