Whereas the parties here present agree that collaborative endeavors assist a Community in creating a college ready culture, and
Whereas the parties to this agreement support such a positive endeavor for the City of El Monte and its neighboring communities
We, the undersigned, do agree to work towards the following conditions in the City of El Monte and it’s neighboring communities
Our public schools will become a seamless educational pipeline to college. Our students will be mentored towards having well-defined academic and career goals. We will ensure that college becomes an affordable and thus realistic choice for El Monte families. We will encourage parents to become active participants in their children’s education. All parties will work together to create feasible intervention methods that address the academic, health, language, behavior, and any other permeating issues of the El Monte and neighboring communities. All educators, parents, and students will expect El Monte students to be able to attend and succeed in college. In order to meet the conditions stated above all undersigned parties will agree to commit to the following El Monte Promise Foundation will
• Implement and administrate the Scholar Savings Program for all eligible students in the El Monte School Districts.
• Serve as a backbone organization by convening stakeholders to mobilize resources for the educational benefit of El Monte students and sustainability of the Scholar Savings Program
• Coordinate data sharing system to effectively monitor the progress and effectiveness of all Promise Foundation Program initiatives.
• Incubate promising projects to ensure a college-ready culture in the El Monte Community El Monte Elementary School Districts: Mountain View School District and El Monte City School District will
• Support Participating schools and work in collaboration with EMPF staff to coordinate any and all necessary events and resources for outreach and enrollment in the Scholar Savings program
• Provide information to all students and their families regarding services and resources to prepare students for college and careers.
• Encourage students to explore college and career options. • Participate in the Data Sharing collaborative as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding
between the participating school district and the El Monte Promise Foundation. • Provide Teachers to support the creation and implementation of the Financial Literacy Curriculum.
El Monte Union High School District
• Support Participating schools in working collaboratively with EMPF staff to coordinate any and all necessary resources to ensure students are in compliance with the Scholar Savings program requirements.
• Provide information to all students and their families regarding services and resources to prepare students for college and careers.
• Encourage students to explore college and career options. • Provide knowledge and encouragement for students to graduate from high school by relegating all
necessary graduation requirements to finish high school in California.
• Participate in the Data Sharing collaborative as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the participating school district and the El Monte Promise Foundation.
• Provide Teachers to support the creation and implementation of the Financial Literacy Curriculum Rio Hondo Community College will
• Offer all El Monte Union High School Districts graduates a one-time priority registration. • Provide outreach personnel and material to help students learn more about college opportunities; and • Provide El Monte Union High School Students who matriculate to Rio Hondo Community College
with information and assistance to meet the community college transfer requirements for transfer into a four-year college.
The City of El Monte will
• Provide any necessary support in the implementation of all El Monte Promise Foundation Programs and initiatives.
• Publicly promote and support any and all El Monte Promise Foundation efforts.
