The carry handle mirrors that of the ElDiablo 8.9ft we tested last issue. It’sextremely easy to get knucklesright in and therefore comfortableand efficient to transport. TheInca’s deck pad grips like stinkand sweeping away from thebeach is swift.

As an allround paddler itworks well for SUPers withfundamentals nailed downand copes with chop/wind.There’s a good deal ofsecondary stability built in,meaning you can trust it asplatform able to cope withjunky conditions. For thosestill getting to grips with theSUP surf basics (and standup in general), Loco’s larger11ft Inca would be a better fit.

The Inca has a low rocker nose thataids early entry into waves – it alsohelps the Inca track well. Worth keeping inmind, however, is to accurately locate the

paddling sweet spot as too far forwardwill result in the nose burying. Samewhen taking off on steeper waves.

Glide is admirable. There’s a fair bit oftail kick – designed to lock into swellfaces – which will require someunsticking. A few deep and powerfulpaddle strokes will see the rider right. With a high cadence SUPers can pickup waves early and the Incaaccelerates progressively. A deepconcave runs through the hull of theInca, which helps when crossstepping, while the larger central finand tail hold in the pocket well.

We were surprised by how nose riderorientated the Inca 10ft actually is.Convinced the Inca was more highperformance hack ‘n’ slash long boardshape, it’s actually halfway house

between pure toes on the nose sled andcarving machine. There’s enough tail

squirting prowess to keep shredders happy, while stylmeisters will enjoy the feeling ofelevation once on the big, spoony nose.

Easy steezy– Loco Inca 10ft x 29” x 142L Loco’s Inca continues the North East brand’s trend of arebooted 2016 line up. The Inca is Loco’s nose ridingvehicle and comes looking super sexy with wood reveal,South American inspired graphics and sleek wood corefins – all great aesthetics.
