Product InformationDYNA I CONTROLLERGeneralThis Barber-Colman DYNA I Controller incorporates the latesttechnology to provide the most cost effective and versatile unitfor precise control of diesel, gasoline, or natural gas enginesin the marketplace.Separate circuits measure the PROPORTIONAL (amount of offspeed), INTEGRAL (time of offspeed), and DERIVATIVE (rate ofchange of offspeed) values. These parameters all work together to provide a control that results in fast and stable engineresponse to load changes while maintaining precise speedregulation.
Speed Sensing
Temperature Stability: Better than 0.5% overtemperatures of -40F to +167F (-40C to +75C)
Typically the engine speed reference signal is obtained from amagnetic pickup mounted in the flywheel housing perpendicular to the ring gear. The number of teeth sensed per revolutionis converted into an engine speed signal. Other techniquesmay be used to obtain speed reference.
Mechanical Vibration: Withstands the followingvibration without failure or degraded performance:0.06 inch double amplitude at 5 to 18 Hz; 1 G at 18to 30 Hz; 0.02 inch double amplitude at 30 to 48 Hz;2.5 G's at 48 to 70 Hz.
Adjustments
Output Signal: PWM current to 6 amp max.
Speed Setting: 20 turn potentiometerGain: Single turn potentiometer. 0 to 100%Integral: Single turn pot. 0 to 100%Derivative: Single turn pot. 0 to 100%Droop: Single turn pot. 0 to 15%Fuel Selection: Diesel, gasoline or gasActuator Selection: DYNA 2000 & 2500Remote Speed: Use DYNS 10000 potentiometer

Features Are Easy To AddIt is easy to add features to the electric governor to provide benefits the customer needs. Remote speed setting, isochronous load sharing, automatic synchronizing, ramp generator, single phase load pulse and KW limits can beadded at the time of initial governor installation or, just as easily, added later when the need arises. No modificationto the basic governor is required when these features are added.
