Self assessment Who undergoes this assessment?
The Driver Self assessment is taken by experienced drivers who regularly drive for their
work.
What does the assessment measure?
This self assessment allows drivers to indirectly assess the quality of their driving. This
quality is determined by questions based on strict criteria. There are two quality
concepts: the CitoDrive concept and the SAFE & Eco concept.
• CitoDrive’s criteria: safety, consideration for other road users, aiding traffic flow,
environmentally responsible driving, control
• SAFE & Eco’s criteria: see and be seen (S), always a way out (A), far and wide view
(F), ever aware (E), environment (E), control (Co).
On completion of the assessment, they will receive an online report consisting of their
scores and a corresponding explanation.
What can you do with the results?
The results of the Self assessment should be used as follows:
• Trainer and participant can, based on the results, jointly decide which driving skill
should be focused on in the practical training.
• Trainer and participant can compare the results of the self assessment with the
trainer’s assessment, following practical training.
• Based on the group reports, client organisations can get a picture of the drivers’
assessment of their own driving and to what extent these self-assessments correspond to
the trainers’ assessments.
What do the candidates have to do during the assessment?
The Driver Self Assessment is a digital assessment. Examples of driving are presented in
the assessment. In each case, the candidates must state if they act in the intended
manner (almost) never or (almost) always. The candidates can choose the ‘manual
transmission’ or ‘automatic transmission’ option.
Where is the assessment taken?
The Driver Self Assessment is made available on CitoDrive’s internet-based assessment
portal. It can therefore be taken from any computer with an internet connection. It is
advisable to take the test in a quiet place. The assessment can be taken using the
following internet browsers: Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox 3.
5
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
How should the candidate prepare?
Candidates do not actually need to prepare for the Driver Self Assessment. The questions
refer to the driver’s experience and can therefore be answered without any form of
preparation.
