“For college students
Who are dissatisfied with not knowing when and where events are occurring
Vescle is a new social media platform
That provides location and time based content in a truly ephemeral manner
Unlike our competitors who built location on top of their existing service
Our service is built on top of location

What we learned
iOS DevelopmentGained experience with Swift, Objective-C, as well as vector-based design with Sketch
Assess FeasibilityOur first three presentations were all on different ideas because we didn’t do enough prior research
PivotingKnowing and accepting a change of course is essential to development
No AssumptionsDon’t make assumptions about what the user wants. Actually ask them
UI MattersIf the interface looks bad, people will shit on it even if the idea/functionality is good
Be LazyDon’t implement something if someone else has already done it for you

Work left to do
Filter by FriendsImplementation of map showing only vescles posted by friends still buggy
Serving VideoCurrently only serve text and picture vescles, but video is essential too
Some Parts Scale...but others don’t. Whole application needs to be scalable to maintain a user base
