Case study
• Information from concerned parents that their 14 year old daughter was in a sexual relationship with a 23 year old male.
• Checks revealed concerning past and recent behaviour• Initial Enquiries revealed he had tattooed the victim and other children. • Perpetrator arrested that night. • Investigation taken on by RISE. • Suspect bailed with conditions of non contact.• Child Abduction Notice issued• Victim having initially disputed any sexual activity had taken place made disclosures following
Police and support worker intervention over the next week.• Liaison within the RISE team ensured support put in place for all victims and evidence
gathered. • Perpetrator contacted victim via social media. He was arrested, charged and remanded in
custody.• Media appeal has resulted in a further historic victim being identified.• Suspect remains remanded in prison. Crown Court case set for September 2015.
