1. Executive summary
This document gives a short overview of the project communication pack (logo, templates,
flyer etc.) including information on the project branding and the use of the EU emblem. The
report delivers outlook of the dissemination tools and rules that will be used to achieve the
dissemination goals set in the project in different communication and promotion activities
performed by all the project Partners throughout the project duration. The next deliverable
D7.3 – First version of the Dissemination Plan will discuss the overall dissemination and
communication strategy: target groups, messages and channels and well as identify all
Partners’ communication activities.
The support element of dissemination activities is project branding. The branding is aimed at
ensuring a ‘distinctive look’ and ‘feel across’ a diverse set of communication tools (e.g.
promotilal materials) in order to meet the information needs of the project target audiences. It
sets one of the main and most important communication and dissemination tools which give
the opportunity to reach wider audience. The Dissemination leader has established also clear
guidelines that will ensure the integrity of the project identity and style of BERTIM constantly
maintained. It will allow greater efficiency in printing and other forms of reproduction.
For the purpose of dissemination activities within the project, series of templates have been
developed and made available to the Project Consortium for the use in all official
communications.

2. Communication pack
BERTIM Communication pack includes: logo, project result booklet, PowerPoint presentation,
deliverable template, general document template, flyer, poster and pop-up banner.
All relevant publishable materials as well as arising information about the project that require
updating intended to be available to the public will also be made available through the project
website.
ASM as the leader of Exploitation, dissemination and communication has prepared templates
of the information and promotional materials as well as the materials. These already have
been used during the dissemination events (e.g. local and transnational content related
events, the final BERTIM conference) and will be used throughout the BERTIM project.
The logo of the financing institution (the European Commission, European Union’s Horizon
2020 research and innovation programme) is included in all dissemination materials prepared
in the project: the templates of project documents, the website, flyer, poster etc.
All project materials including templates have been designed using a palette of colours that
matches the BERTIM logo. This way all BERTIM materials are harmonised.
2.1. Logo
The project logo has been prepared by ASM. Several logo propositions had been discussed
with Project Consortium. All dissemination materials as well as project documents will include

3. The use of EU emblem
As beneficiaries of EU funding, all project Partners shall use the European Union emblem in
all communication to acknowledge the support received under EU programme (High-
resolution emblems can be found here: http://europa.eu/about-eu/basic-
information/symbols/flag/).
The name of the programme (Horizon 2020) shall be used as verbal brand, i.e. references
to it will be made without a regulated visual mark or logo.
Basic rules are following:
The minimum height of the EU emblem shall be 1 cm.
The name of the European Union shall be used in conjunction with the name of
the programme or fund and it shall be spelled out in full.
The typeface to be used in conjunction with the EU emblem can be any of the
following: Arial, Calibri, Garamond, Trebuchet, Tahoma, Verdana. Italic and
underlined variations and the use of font effects are not allowed.
The positioning of the text in relation to the EU emblem is not prescribed in any
particular way but the text should not interfere with the emblem in any way.
The font size used should be proportionate to the size of the emblem. The colour
of the font should be reflex blue (same blue colour as the EU flag), black or white
depending on the background.
BERTIM statement about EU financing to be used throughout the whole
project duration when communicating about the project:
“This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and
innovation programme under grant agreement No 636984.”
Both elements: (1) the statement above and (2) EU emblem should be used according to
the rules when communicating about the project (in promotional materials, project
templates, project deliverables, project website, social media etc.).
If it is not possible to include both elements e.g. when publishing articles in magazines (due to
lack of space or especially in cases where we have no control of the final publication format or
contents) the Consortium is obliged to make sure to include at least the phrase: “the project is
co-founded by the European Union”.
More information regarding the use of EU emblem is available on:

emblem_en.pdf.
