A water fountain in your home can be

an extremely valuable asset. Fresh clean

water is symbolic of good health, positive

energies, good cash flow and a lack of

stagnation in your career.

Make sure that there is no water

placed in the south-west of your

home or its surrounding, as it is

the most inauspicious for relation-

ships.

Do not have water symbolism

inside the bedroom. It attracts

the Ch’i of loss and water in the

bedroom causes relationship

problems. Hence pictures, posters

of landscapes with waterfall or

painting of lake and rivers can be

used elsewhere in the house. Do not sit with any wa-ter feature behind you,

always make sure to have a solid wall behind

you for support.

Make sure that there is no wa-

ter feature on the right-hand

side of the main front door (looking out from inside).

Avoid placing any kind of wa-

ter feature under the staircase,

as it effects children’s wealth

luck.

Place a fountain or cascade of water outside your front

door, on the right hand side

of the door (as you enter). This allows good fortune

and abundance to flow into your front door. Also you can

place an aquarium or foun-tain in the prosperity or the

wealth area of your home .Make sure that all drains are free flowing

to stimulate flow of fi-nances. Do not let water

stagnate in drains.

The water Ch’i energy of the north is associated

with independence, so exposure to this will

stop you from relying heavily on other people’s

opinions. It also encourages money to flow

towards you. Round or rectangular shape aquariums are bet-

ter than square ones, keeping nine goldfish with

one black and eight golden. Aquarium bubbling

with water attracts the prosperity Ch’i into

your house. If placed in the office, place a light

shining into the aquarium so that flickering

shadows are reflected on the ceiling. This

helps in business turnover – increasing

your sales and profits . Even the placement of a photo or

painting of a stream, river or lake

in the wealth area of the house

can help increase prosperity. If

you energize it correctly and

in proper alignments with the

other energies so that there is an

auspicious balance, water energy

will make you rich and prosperous

beyond your expectations.

Ideal Placement:

avoid these Placements:

Water can make you richerWater brings prosperity when energized correctly in the right manner and helps

getting a continuous flow of wealth luck into your house or workplace. Every

person is born with the Wealth luck and has the ability to become rich, and with

feng shui we can speed up the ripening of your wealth luck .

As 70 per cent of the human body weight is made up of water, placing these

features correctly in your surrounding will have a significant effect on your personal Ch’i energy.

CBI asks about sacked Rajasthan minister’s health

Ahead of Obama meeting, India notifies N-liability rules

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) The gov-ernment Wednesday said it is de-termined to pass the Lokpal bill as it unveiled its agenda for the winter session of parliament that includes a slew of anti-corruption legislations apart from the ambitious food secu-rity bill.

Apart from Lokpal, other anti-corruption bills slated for considera-tion and passing in the winter session include whistle blower protection bill and judicial standards and account-ability bill.

Talking to media persons, Parlia-mentary Affairs Minister Pawan Ku-mar Bansal said the session, starting Nov 22, will have 21 sittings. He said the government was keen to pass the Lokpal bill.

“Government is determined to pass the (Lokpal) Bill... Government stands committed to root out corrup-tion. It may not be done through one law,” Bansal said.

Anna Hazare has threatened to go on a hunger strike again if the government does not pass the bill in the winter session. Hazare’s hunger strike for a strong Lokpal in April and August this year made the gov-ernment agree to his demands.

Jaipur, Nov 16 (IANS) A report on the health condition of sacked Ra-jasthan minister Mahipal Maderna who is alleged to be linked to miss-ing nurse Bhanwari Devi was given to the Central Bureau of Investiga-tion (CBI) by the hospital authorities here Wednesday, sources said.

Maderna who has also been sus-pended from the Congress over al-legations that he was involved in the disappearance of nurse Bhanwari Devi was admitted to the Mathura Das Mathur Hospital Saturday mid-night after he complained of chest pain.

“It seems the CBI wanted to know, how is he really and is he in a condi-tion to be shifted to Delhi,” a doctor said.

The family members of Maderna couple of days back had expressed their desire to shift him to some hos-pital in Delhi.

Maderna had been summoned for questioning by the CBI in con-nection with the kidnapping case Sunday, but he was hospitalized by his family members.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) Ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s meeting with US President Barack Obama in Bali, the government Wednesday notified the implementa-tion rules for the civil nuclear liability law, setting the stage for the meeting between the two leaders.

The rules relating to Civil Liabil-ity for Nuclear Damage Act provides the nuclear plant operator the right to recourse for the period for which the supplier of equipment has taken liability for patent or latent defects or sub-standard services under a con-tract.

According to the rules, an opera-tor’s claim will in no case exceed the actual amount of compensation paid by him up to the date of filing such claim.

The US has made it clear that In-dia’s civil nuclear liability law will have to be harmonised with interna-tional conventions and the current regime imposed a heavy burden on the operators of nuclear plants in In-dia.

On his way back from the Mal-dives, Manmohan Singh last week

said that the government will place rules and procedures relating to the civil nuclear liability regime in the forthcoming winter session of parlia-ment that begins Nov 22.

Manmohan Singh and Obama will meet on the margins of the 18-nation East Asia Summit in Bali Friday. They are expected to give a push to the nu-clear deal that has languished due to Washington’s apprehensions about India’s civil nuclear liability regime which American nuclear companies find onerous.

Manu Sharma granted parole, barred from nightclubs

Cancer can be fought and won

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) The Del-hi High Court on Wednesday grant-ed five days’ parole to Manu Sharma, serving life term for the 1999 killing of ramp model Jessica Lall, to attend his brother’s marriage. But he has been barred from visiting nightclubs and discotheques.

Justice V.K. Shali said: “He is al-lowed to attend his brother’s mar-riage which will be beginning from

Nov 21 and end on Nov 25.”However, Shali said Sharma can-

not visit any discotheque or night-club and nor can he cross Ambala, Chandigarh and Karnal, where the marriage ceremonies and other re-lated functions are slated to be held.

The judge’s observation on ban-ning him from visiting nightclubs came as Sharma was found to have visited one in 2009.

At that time, he was granted pa-role for a month, which was later extended by another 30 days. Dur-ing this period, Sharma was found at a Delhi nightclub, which led to a huge controversy as he got involved in a brawl with former Delhi police commissioner Y.S. Dadwal’s son.

The court also asked him to fur-nish a personal bond and surety amount of Rs.50,000 each.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) With new breakthroughs in medicine and early diagnosis, any type of can-cer can be overcome, experts said on Wednesday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.

“Many patients worry unneces-sarily and they are carried away by cancer myths,” said Atul sharma, assistant professor in the depart-ment of medical oncology.

He said nearly 80 percent of can-cer patients “think they are in the gallows of death”.

“But with new breakthroughs in medical field and with early diagno-sis, any type of cancer can be pre-vented,” he added.

Sharma said that while some

cancers were genetic, “this does not mean that one will definitely devel-op cancer because of their heredity”.

Breast cancer and ovarian cancer can be passed down genetically.

According to AIIMS, India gets about nine lakh new cancer cases and four lakh deaths occur annually due to the disease. There are about 30 lakh cancer patients in India at any point of time.

Delhi medical college ties up with University of EdinburghNew Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) The Delhi government's Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uni-versity of Edinburgh, Britain, to promote cooperation in research and teaching, Delhi Health Minister A.K. New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to six accused in the 2008 cash-for-votes scam that had rocked parliament ahead of a trust vote. Following are the highlights of Justice M.L. Mehta's order and the proceedings of the day:

-- If there was any conspiracy between the petitioners (accused), amongst themselves, or with bribe givers, they would not have associ-ated themselves with the CNN-IBN news channel and exposed them-selves to the act of taking money be-fore the camera.I have gone through the entire voluminous charge sheet but could not find any prima facie

evidence on record of demand and acceptance of illegal gratification by the three (Bharatiya Janata Party) MPs.

-- If the intention of the petition-er MPs was to receive bribe, they

would have done so and kept the amount so received silently instead of producing the same in parlia-ment immediately thereafter.

-- Admittedly, no action was tak-en by the parliament except that of appointing a parliamentary inquiry committee. It is noted that some of the members of the inquiry com-mittee have also given dissenting views.

-- Even according to the prosecu-tion, the basic requirement of mens rea (criminal motive) to accept bribe so as to (bring it) within the ambit of Prevention of Corruption Act was lacking on the part of all the petitioners, the court said.

Court orders promotional avenues for Tihar jail officer

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) Accept-ing the plea of Tihar jail's law officer, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Delhi government to create promotional avenues for him in the prison department.

A division bench of Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw directed the govern-ment to create promotional posts for petitioner Sunil Gupta, the lone jail

law officer, and suggested amend-ment to the recruitment rules in three month.

Allowing Gupta's plea that he had not got any promotion or increment in his 15-year service as law officer, the bench said: "This court cannot direct how the rules are to be framed by the government but can direct to create promotional avenues."

New Greek government wins confidence vote

Athens, Nov 17 (IANS/RIA Novosti) The new Greek coalition government led by Lucas Papademos has won the confidence vote in parliament.

The government comprises the country’s two leading parties -- the leftist Pasok and the centre right New Democracy, as well as the small far-right Laos party.

Papademos has said his priority is

ratifying the EU 130 billion euro bail-out package and imposing austerity measures that have provoked massive protests across the country.

“Dealing with Greece’s problems will be more difficult if Greece is not a member of the eurozone,” Papademos told MPs before the vote Wednesday.

He said earlier Greece must present written guarantees that it will comply

with the EU’s demands for it to comply with the terms of the bailout package.

Papademos took office over the weekend following the resignation of prime minister George Papandreou. He stepped down after he called for a referendum on further domestic spending cuts, but later backtracked amid protests from Brussels.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) After holding a mammoth rally in La-hore that stunned foes and admir-ers alike, former cricket icon Imran Khan is looking to make “a 180 de-gree turn” in Pakistan’s corruption-ridden politics, said a close aide and party deputy.

“It is a comprehensive change... at the grassroots level,” Arif Alvi, Imran’s deputy in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, told IANS over telephone from Lahore, discussing what he said was a silent

churning across the country. And Alvi said that Imran had

proved to be a good learner after a disastrous start in politics. Since 1996, his PTI has won just one seat in parliament.

Seeking to reach out to the peo-ple, Imran spoke on Kashmir and asked India to withdraw its troops from the valley. He observed that no power could ever control people through an army and went on to ask whether the US Army had been able to control Afghans in 10 years.

He also declared that his party would hold a civil disobedience movement if politicians failed to declare their assets.

Can Imran convert the crowds which flocked to him in Lahore into votes in the 2013 parliamentary elections?

In 1997, his party failed to bag even one seat. Five years later it still could win just one seat.

Other parties, however, refuse to give him credit.

Rome, Nov 17 (IANS) Mario Monti took over as Italy’s new premier on Wednesday after leading the newly selected cabinet ministers who were sworn in at the presidential palace.

On Wednesday, during the swear-ing-in ceremony, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano said: “The for-mation of this new government was difficult and delicate, but we have managed all together to find the most appropriate solutions.”

Corrado Passera, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo bank of Italy, named as economic development and infra-structure minister, said: “We will convince markets through concrete plans.”

Monti and his team, composed of experts in their respective fields who are not politicians, were sworn in after the new Italian prime minister publicly unveiled his cabinet minis-ters.

The new government is expected to face a confidence vote in both chambers of parliament on Thursday and Friday.

Melbourne, Nov 16 (IANS) Visit-ing US President Barak Obama has denied speculations that America influenced Australia to overturn its policy of not selling uranium to India.

“We have not had any influence, I suspect, on Australia’s decision to explore what its relationship in terms of the peaceful use of nuclear energy in India might be,” the US President said at a press conference on his arrival in the Australian cap-ital of Canberra Wednesday.

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard had announced her plan to lift the ban on uranium exports to India in a newspaper article on Tuesday.

“I don’t think Julia or anybody else needs my advice in figuring that out,” said Obama.

Obama said Gillard’s decision to overturn the uranium export ban seemed to be compatible with in-ternational law.

Gillard, who met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the G20 summit at Cannes, has been urging, along with a number of her senior party colleagues, the lifting of the ban on uranium exports to India as the South Asian country has shown remarkable nuclear compliance.

“We will not sell India uranium for peaceful purposes - though Canada is preparing to - while pol-icy allows us to export it to coun-tries such as China, Japan and the United States,” Gillard wrote.

She, however, added that “we must, of course, expect of India the same standards we do of all coun-tries for uranium export”.

The Australian prime minister once again defended her plan to lift the uranium export ban on India, saying that her country cannot af-ford to miss out on the jobs and trade benefits expected from the deal.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) Pakistan’s former president Pervez Musharraf has said that although he can’t confirm gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s presence in Pakistan, the suspected master-mind behind the 1993 Mumbai mul-tiple bombings, is being held in “high esteem” by many in his country mak-ing his extradition “complicated”.

In an interview to NDTV, Mushar-raf, who is in exile in London, reiter-ated he was close to sealing a deal on Sir Creek and Siachen in 2007 and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was planning to visit Islamabad for it. That visit would have changed history, he said. He also stressed that notes were exchanged at the highest level on Kashmir and the two leaders “were trying to move forward in draft-ing the deal”.

Musharraf ’s comments suggest that Ibrahim may be given refuge in Paki-stan, which contradicts the assurance he gave to BJP leader L.K. Advani in 2001 in Agra. “...You would be making a great contribution to the peace pro-cess if you handed over to India Da-wood Ibrahim,” Advani said in a blog recently. “Mr. Advani, let me tell you emphatically that Dawood Ibrahim is not in Pakistan,” Advani quotes Mush-arraf as saying.

Pakistan has consistently denied that Ibrahim was in that country de-spite India maintaining that that he continues to live in a palatial house in Karachi.

said on Wednesday. Authorities also found another round in the exterior of the White House. The bullets were found on Tuesday, the Secret Service said.

Rural poverty alleviation project for northeast approvedNew Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS): The government Wednesday ap-proved a Rs.683 crore project to improve the living standards of rural areas in four northeastern states -- Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura -- fighting high poverty ratios. The plan, North East Rural Livelihood Project, or NERLP, was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs that at a meet-ing chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The project will cover nearly 300,000 house-holds in 1,624 villages in the four states and will cost an estimated Rs.683.2 crore ($144.4 million), an official statement said.

Petrol price cut will not help inflation: Experts

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IANS): The cut in petrol prices by state-run oil compa-nies will have negligible or marginal impact on the country's economy and will not help the near double-digit inflation to cool down, industry ex-perts observe. India's fuel retailers cut petrol prices by Rs.1.85 per litre Tuesday. The move came after some United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies, including Trinamool Con-gress, and opposition parties alike criticised the petrol price hike of Rs.1.80 per litre earlier this month. However, Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the largest of the three state-run oil marketing companies, stated that a fall in global crude prices and the rupee remaining stable at 49.30 to a

US dollar were the reasons for the cut in petrol prices in domestic market. "Bringing down fuel prices is always a good decision. Now the thing is that we have to see how sustainable it is as the rupee is depreciating against the dollar. The government must take measures to ensure that rupee does not depreciate," Srei Infrastructure Finance managing director Hemant Kanoria told IANS here Wednesday. Kanoria said Rs.42 to Rs.44 was the right level of exchange rate against dollar. He also observed that the re-duction in petrol prices will not have any cooling effect on overall inflation which has stood at over nine per-cent for 11 months in a row. Emami Group of companies director Man-

ish Goenka said the petrol price cut will only benefit the common people, not the industry. "Now use of petrol is very limited in the industry. So the slash in petrol prices will not have any impact on the industry. But the cut is good for consumer sentiment," he said. D.P. Nag, secretary of industry body Bengal National Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI), said fuel prices always affect the in-dustry. He, however, said reducing petrol prices was a good signal. "It is a good signal for any market economy where reduction in global crude oil prices should be followed by a cor-responding reduction in prices of fuel in the domestic market."

Rs.64,900 crore under-recovery in 15 days for oil marketing firmsNew Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS): The government-run oil market-ing companies suffered a loss of Rs.64,900 crore as under-recov-eries during the first 15 days of this month due to selling diesel, kerosene and domestic liquefied petroleum gas on subsidised rates, official data showed Wednesday.

The companies suffered the maxi-mum under-recovery of Rs.37,719 crore on the sale of diesel. Accord-ing to data released by the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, the oil marketing companies suffered under-recovery of Rs.10.17 per litre on sale of diesel. The companies suffered a loss of Rs.25.66 on sale

of each litre of kerosene oil and Rs.260.5 on sale of each cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for domestic use. Total under-recov-ery on sale of kerosene oil during the first fortnight of November was Rs.13,361 crore while under-recov-ery on sale of domestic LPG was Rs.13,820 crore.

Pranab compliments CAG work, gets Joshi's praise

Cotton farmers’ stir intensifies in Maharashtra

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS): Complimenting the role of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in putting checks and balances on the use of taxpayers' money, Finance Min-ister Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday said the government proposes to amend the regulatory framework to give the of-ficial auditor greater role and make it "more effective". "The government is working on proposals for amendments to CAG (DPC) Act, 1971 that will make the institution of the CAG more effective in dealing with the new mechanisms of administration," Mukherjee said in his address on the 150th anniversary of the institution. The CAG is a constitutional entity governed by the Comptroller and Auditor General's (Duties, Powers and Conditions of Service) Act, 1971.

The finance minister's comment assumes significance as a section of government officials and several ministers have criticized the CAG saying the auditor was crossing its lim-its, especially in regard to its report on 2G spectrum alloca-tion. Mukherjee advocated the need for expanding the role of the auditor, saying it would help curb corruption and bring transparency in the system.

Senior BJP leader and chairman of parliament's Public Ac-counts Committee (PAC) Murli Manohar Joshi praised the finance minister for his defence of the government's official auditor and the PAC. Referring to the criticism of CAG and PAC by a section of government officials and several minis-ters, Joshi said: "it is heartening that Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has come out in support of these institutions."

Nagpur, Nov 16 (IANS): The cotton farmers protesting against the current minimum support price for raw cotton in Vidarbha region Wednes-day intensified their protest by blocking the National Highway 6. They have been demanding Rs.6,000 per quintal as mini-mum support price for raw

cotton as against the current rate of Rs.3,300 per quintal. Shiv Sena activists joined in the stir in the district headquar-ters of Amravati for the third day. They ransacked the state cotton cooperative marketing federation office and set the furniture afire. Over 100 farm-ers and Shiv Sena activists were

arrested, including the party’s district chief Balasaheb Bhag-wat. The agitators even took out a huge farmers’ rally on the highway on the issue which was addressed by Tiwari and other farmers’ leaders. The farmers vowed not to sell raw cotton until the government hikes the guarantee price.

Is Marriage an Obligatory Term for Women? We are living in the 21st century,

a century which is a milestone for technological progress, a century which would be considered as the greatest in terms of development. But if we look back and see the plight of women, it would be soul stirring. Women are still standing where we left them.

A country where family values shape a person’s personality and a woman is considered to be a major contributor to a man’s success, in modern era it seems that once that success is achieved, a woman is only looked upon as a sex object and a hu-man being who can be treated as an animal.

India has the highest percentage of domestic violence and the lowest di-vorce rate! Why is it so? Are we afraid of raising our voices against our hus-bands who beat us behind the closed doors? Are we afraid of our parents who married us off to a person who they thought was the one for us? Are we afraid of the society that thinks di-vorce is a taboo?

We do have women who are edu-cated, independent and self-suffi-cient. For them, it might not be a great deal to call off the marriage and sustain on their own terms. But for

a woman who is still dependent on her husband and eagerly waits for the first day of the month to receive her husband’s salary cannot even think of taking such a step in her entire life. She would bear all the physical and mental torture done to her just be-cause she is devoted to her husband, because her kids are still to be raised!

I am not saying that divorce is the only possible solution to marital problems, but when it just cannot get better, then why to hold on to a relationship that has no meaning at-tached to it.

Marriage counselors have a major role to play in such cases. People who are going through tough marriage should consult a marriage counselor for advice. There are many women groups that work towards issues per-taining to women. A woman can take help from such organizations.

There is a dowry death every four hours in India. Are we still living in an era where a woman was a burden for her husband and that’s why dowry was essential? No. Then why to give dowry and get your daughter married off? A person who is clean since the beginning is the right person.

Marriage is a difficult institution to maintain. It can be hampered by

dowry deaths and domestic violence. The reason can be any, but solutions are many! So I truly believe that a woman should not just keep numb

because of her husband. Today we have got the power of social media where you can create and also there are so many organizations that come

forward to help women. Raise your voice, be an example for the society and be the change.

Chidambaram visits Jharkhand, Odisha to review Maoist operations

Sonia hits out at Team Anna, commits Lokpal

Ranchi/Bhubaneswar, Nov 9 (IANS) Union Home Minister P. Chidam-baram Wednesday visited the Mao-ist-affected states of Jharkhand and Odisha to review operations against the rebels and also implementation of the developmental schemes in areas hit by Leftwing extremism.

In Ranchi, Chidambaram said he was reasonably satisfied with the im-plementation of Integrated Action Plan (IAP) in Jharkhand’s Maoist districts.

“I am reasonably satisfied with IAP implementation going in Jharkhand districts. More needs to be done. There has been significant success in Maoist operations between June and

October,” Chidambaram told report-ers.

He said “Jharkhand is one of the most Maoist affected states of the country. There are 14 battalions of CRPF and two battalions of Cobra forces are in Jharkhand. There are enough forces to deal with the Maoist menace in the state.”

The meeting was attended by Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, state police Chief G.S. Rath and other senior got officials. Sources said Chidambaram asked the state government to implement central schemes properly in the Maoist af-fected districts.

Chamoli (Uttarakhand)/New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi Wednesday hit out at Team Anna and said the party and the UPA government were com-mitted to a strong anti-corruption ombudsman (Lokpal). Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal expressed hope the bill would be passed in the winter session of parliament.

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that Gandhi’s comments “reflects their views”.

Welcoming Sonia’s statement, read out in absentia in Chamoli (Utt-

arakhand), Kejriwal expressed hope “the Congress would keep its word and pass the legislation in the winter session starting Nov 22”.

Hitting out at Team Anna for threatening another agitation on the Lokpal bill, Sonia Gandhi said “Corruption cannot be fought by speeches, so I don’t understand why this noise.”

She also reminded Team Anna that “It was the National Advisory Council (NAC) headed by me which had first started public consultations for a Lokpal”.

Madhu Koda’s aide arrested in Dubai

Congress targets Uttarakhand over Haridwar stampede

Kolkata, Nov 9 (IANS) Breaking the ice after three years, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday personally called up her predecessor and arch-foe Bud-dhadeb Bhattacharjee to invite him to the 17th Kolkata film festival starting Thursday. This is the first time the film festival is being held after Bhattacharjee demitted office following the Left Front’s rout in the April-May assembly elections. The festival is considered Bhattacharjee’s brainchild. Banerjee told Bhat-tacharjee, an avid film buff, “it will make me happy if you come for the inauguration”. However, the former chief minister cited pre-occupation with another programme which will keep him away.

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) Sanjay Chaudhary, a close aide of jailed former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, was arrested in Dubai Wednesday on an Interpol red corner notice, the CBI said, adding it would initiate steps for his extradition. Chaudhary is ac-cused of investing Koda’s dubious funds by using his contacts in the alleged siphoning of public money.

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Congress Wednesday said the Haridwar stampede, in which at least 20 people were killed, occurred due to insufficient ar-rangements by the Uttarakhand administration. At least 20 people were killed and 40 injured in the stampede that occurred Tuesday when massive crowds had gathered near the Ganges for a religious meet in the temple town.

Notice to CBI on bail plea of Kanimozhi, four others

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday sought the CBI’s reply by Dec 1 on the bail pleas of DMK MP Kanimozhi and four other accused in the 2G scam and asked the jail officials for a medical report on accused Cineyug Films founder Karim Morani.

A notice was issued to the Cen-tral Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after hearing arguments on behalf of Kanimozhi, Kalaignar TV chief Sharad Kumar, Karim Morani and Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt. Ltd. directors Asif Balwa and Rajiv B. Agarwal.

The court also directed Tihar Jail superintendent to submit a medical report on Morani, who has sought bail on health grounds. Appearing for Kanimozhi, a senior advocate contended bench that the trial court ignored the CBI’s willingness to al-low bail to the five accused.

“A set of accused who came in ap-peal against the trail court bail de-nial order are not made accused in the principle charge sheet, in which former communications minister A. Raja is named,” said the defence counsel.

Mumbai, Nov 9 (IANS) The Bom-bay High Court Wednesday reject-ed the bail application of Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit, one of the prime accused in the Malegaon 2008 blast case, a legal official said.

The court, while rejecting the bail application on grounds that “prima facie material was avail-able against” Purohit, said that a detailed order would be delivered soon, according to advocate Sharif Shaikh, an intervener appearing in the matter on behalf of family members of a victim in the blast.

“The state had opposed the bail plea stating that the investiga-tions into the Malegaon blast was transferred from the state Anti-

Terrorism Squad to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) vide a notification last April,” Shaikh told IANS.

He said the grounds for opposing bail were since the NIA investiga-tions are still continuing, granting bail to Purohit could hamper the ongoing probe into the terror in-cident in the minority-dominated town in Nashik district of north Maharashtra.

Prasad was among 11 accused in the blast case, including Sadhvi Pragnya Singh Thakur. Alleged to be linked to a right-wing organiza-tion, Purohit has been continuously in custody since his arrest for his role in the blast case.

Jammu, Nov 9 (IANS) The Uni-fied Command Wednesday evening asked the two panels looking into the question of revoking the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) to “speed up” their recommenda-tions.

The two panels, with two Corps Commanders of the Indian Army, Director General of Police and

Principal Secretary, Home, were constituted in September last year to suggest the areas from where the Disturbed Area Act and AFSPA could be lifted. But the panels were not able to finalise their recommen-dations.

Official sources told IANS at the conclusion of more than three-hour-long meeting of the unified com-

mand held in the civil secretariat and chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and senior army com-manders, that it has been decided to “speed up the work and make rec-ommendations about the removal of AFSPA as early as possible”.

“However, no deadline has been suggested at the meeting,” the official told IANS.

Panels to speed up recommendations on AFSPA

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Su-preme Court will Nov 18 hear a peti-tion by suspended Indian Police Ser-vice officer Sanjiv Bhatt challenging the Gujarat government’s stand in a trial court which may adversely im-pact him in a 1990 case linked to a suspect’s death in Jamnagar district. An apex court bench said the mat-ter would be listed on its scheduled Nov 18 date after Bhatt’s counsel D. Sharma did not press for a stay of the trial court framing charges. The framing of charges was Tuesday put off by the Gujarat High Court till Nov 21. Sharma told the apex court that the high court had itself extended the stay and thus, there was no immediate need for action.

Let them hit you with their best shot!

So take a large chill pill and relax!

Think on your feet and then wing it!

All you need to do is plan an inception!

Time to drop the pressure!

Years ago, the team leader in the TV show ‘Mission Impossible’ would receive a tape cassette describing his next mission that always began with, ‘Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is...’ In a similar way, you’re being given a ‘mission’ and have the option to refuse it. It’s not being imposed upon you. The decision surrounding pursu-ing it or not is yours. If you really want to si-lence a certain person and show others what you can do, then you’d be wise to accept.

March 21 - April 19Aries

You have to be able to look at the larger picture!

How we ask people to do something often determines how something will be done, if they choose to do it at all. The most effective way to get someone to do what you want them to do is plant a seed that your idea is actually their own. Empowering someone now is the best way forward with a plan. Asking them might work. Demanding they do something definitely will not work. Be persuasive and subtle in asking and you might find they surpass your expectations.

May 21 - June 20Gemini

Anyone who has tried to repair water leakage in a ceiling or roof knows that where water settles is rarely where the actual problem is. You need to look a bit further either side of the settled water to find the source of the problem and the same can be said about your frustration with solving a current issue. Don’t focus on its result. If you can focus instead on what caused it, you will work wonders in terms of repairing it.

Sept. 23 - Oct. 22Libra

Have you ever received a present and wondered what it was or how you might ever use it? After we’ve smiled politely and put the puzzling item aside or in a drawer for months, we sometimes find use for it. It might not necessarily be what the item was intended for and the same can be said about something in your world now. What you thought would never be helpful could surprise you in a wonderful way. Just use your imagination and be prepared to improvise.

Oct. 23 - Nov. 21Scorpio

Some people thrive on urgency. They em-brace urgent deadlines that need immediate attention. They feel most alive in the throes of chaos. Eventually, they have to accept chaos has vanished and their lives become predict-able for a little while until it returns. Even if chaos is the last thing you want to have to deal with now, you’ll at least be grateful for how it encourages you to look closer at and solve a problem you’ve wanted to solve for some time.

Nov. 22 - Dec. 21Sagittarius

You possibly think you’re looking at a mountain of soil in need of moving and suspect that what you’re holding is a teaspoon. If this scenario were true, you’d undoubtedly heave a loud sigh or worse and get on with the tedious and time con-suming task ahead of you. Before you sigh or swear, stop and listen. An astrological equivalent of a mechanical digger is ap-proaching. What you thought was going to be a soul destroying task is about to be made infinitely easier.

Don’t let anyone think you’re a push over!

You’re the one everyone looks up to, be proud of that!

Your time is coming, wait for it!

Let somebody else do the work for a change!

Everyone makes mistakes, but only a few actually learn from them!

Don’t be so quick to judge, people can surprise you sometimes!

Recent weeks have not been without up-heaval and coping to new situations, some of which presented themselves with little or no warning. You’ve probably had suspicions about some developments which have occurred and were able to prepare yourself in some way but now it seems you have to take on a responsibility that falls well outside what was agreed. If you sense you’re being used as a scapegoat in some way, now is the time to speak up.

June 21 - July 22Cancer

There may well be plenty of method to the madness others perceive you’re instigating and if you sense you’re confusing a few people with your erratic ways, then you’re probably right. Increasing demands made on your time and resources could be to blame for you constantly changing proverbial horses mid-stream but to placate the number of people making demands on you, you have little choice. Soon, you can expect relief from all that seems crazy or unmanageable.

July 23 - Aug. 22Leo

In the great Book of Life, answers cannot be found in the back. As keen as you are to get to the bottom of something or find a solution, you appear to have little option other than to let a situation unfold further before you can apply your Aquarian way of thinking to it. The fact you must play a waiting game could be the cause of current frustration. Relax and let an answer come to you instead of the other way round.

Jan. 20 - Feb. 18Aquarius

Our minds are often willing to act in oven-like ways for half-baked ideas. You’re probably aware now of an idea that needs a bit more time to ‘rise’. You could be experiencing added frustration of refusing to share ‘whatever it is’ with others through wanting to ensure you retain ownership of your creation but if you’re willing to share your thoughts with a certain person, you’ll experience ways in which two heads really can be much better than one.

Feb. 19 - March 20Pisces

Perhaps, instead of asking for life to provide a lighter burden right now, you should ask for broader shoulders. You appear to be carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders yet, at the same time, have the world at your feet. There’s no doubt that certain situations are accelerating and as pleased you are with certain developments, you’re having to cope with fulfilling numer-ous obligations to other people. The prize for your loyalty will be clear soon.

Dec. 22 - Jan. 19Capricorn

Month ofScorpio

Truth, they say, fears no questions and if you want to clear up tension between you and someone else that goes back further than you probably care to recall, you can now. It will require you to be brutally hon-est with yourself and accept something that may not be the easiest thing you’ve ever accepted. That’s not to say you’re entirely to blame but you can do much now to help you and someone else put it behind you, once and for all.

Aug. 23 - Sept. 22Virgo

Keep your surroundings clean.

Dirty sewers aren’t just smelly, they also lead to various diseases including malaria, dengue etc!

8 ways to a healthy lifestyle

When we are making some resolution, we often make a big goal like quit smoking in 2 months time, or lose 20 pound in 8 weeks. However, it is easier to achieve the goal if we are taking one step a time. Instead of quit smoking immediately, reduce from 1 pack

per day to half in 2 weeks time. Once achieve the goal can be set to reduce further.A best way to change or correct our lifestyle is through a gradual change. We take a small step every time. With slight improvement

every time, we adapt to the new habit. By the time you realize, you already reach your goal.

Here are some tips if you like to make a change to a more healthy life.

1. Watch your weight. As time passes by, our metabolism rate is decreasing. If we do not change our lifestyle or eating habits, we are likely to gain weight over the years. 1 or 2 pounds in 1 year may not be significant but after 10 years, it will be very hard to get rid of 20 pounds of extra weight.

2. Exercise regularlyWhen we exercise we burn off all the excessive fat and cholesterol. Exercise is also a way to increase the metabolism rate and stimulate our system to regenerate and rebuild the muscle. For those who exercise regularly, the risk of cardiovascular diseases is reduced greatly compare to those who doesn't exercise at all.

3. Take your breakfastBreakfast is very important to start our day. Our metabolism rate will be low until we have our breakfast. You will feel more energetic if you have a good breakfast. Only coffee as breakfast is not a good choice. A good breakfast must at least have some proteins and carbohydrates. Bread, fruits and cereal with milk can be a good choice.

4. Take 1 potion of grain each dayGrains help a lot to reduce the risk of cardiovascular and many other diseases.

5. Take at least 1 portion of green salad each dayWe all know that green vegetables are good for us. 1 portion of green salad per day is the minimum we should have for adult. If possible try to have more than 1 portion.

6. Low fat diet alwaysFat is not always the devil in our diet. We must have certain amount of fat in our food not only for the taste but also the health. However we should watch the type of fat that we eat. The unsaturated fat from nuts and vegeta-ble are okay or even good for our health. Choose what you eat wisely.

7. Have some calcium every day.

Calcium is also important to maintain our bone density. So, have some supplement everyday will definitely helps.

8. Use a smaller bowl every timeThis helps to cut down the portion you eat. Japanese are slim because of the portion of their food is small. It doesn't mean that you have to starve yourself; you can always have more small meals per day. In fact it is more beneficial for us if we eat small portions but regularly.

All of these habits are beneficial to us if we practice them every day for long term. Set a goal for yourself and start working on it now.

Styling your hair the Pixie way!Don’t get amused when we say that short hairstyles can look just as sexy and sassy as long hairstyles. And if you are someone who likes playing it with gut, than why not try a super short pixie cut?

The pixie cut does not shape your face like some other haircuts might; and gives your face a sharp edge by exposing every aspect of it. If you think your nose is too big or your ears are too big, or your jaw is too square, you know that a pixie style won't hide or soften these things. This may be one reason, why some women might hesitate to try this cut. However, a dramatic hair colour can always act as the partner in crime and effectively draw away the focus from your features, worth a try ehh!

The key to this look lies in your urge to play up with its versatility and the hair products that you would need to use.

To get the perfect look, rub a blob of sculpting serum or mousse to work through your hair, brush through with a one-inch ceramic round brush pulling hair forward toward the face or try blow-dry your hair forward and accentuate the look with styling wax.

Pixie cuts could be layered, tousled, sleek, wavy, or straight but they are all short – to keep it simple. This perfect combo of the crop with the graduated sections would help attract those eyes with your dainty

allure. Have you noticed Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes and Emma Watson donning

the look? If you couldn’t reach across the ocean, then go no further than our desi girls i.e. Gul

Panag, Mandira Bedi and Divya Dutta who look as ravishing in short hair as they have

ever in long locks.

A pixie cut is like a crop haircut, but a little wispier. Styled to be short and close to the head these haircuts could be tailored to allow for longer

or shorter hair anywhere one likes. Some common customized areas of the pixie haircut include longer hair in the back or at the

sides of the head.

The Ideal houseFeng Shui & Vaastu is very much about success and achieving success. If you arrange your house & work

place according to the principles Feng Shui & Vaastu, you will feel good and can achieve more

from life. Some of these basic guidelines will insure that your dream house is full of prosperity

and riches.

According to Vaastu and Feng Shui the position of doors in relation to each other plays a significant role in the ef-fective distribution of energy through-out the house. Normally the width of the door should be half its height. The door to be rectangular and any form of arch above, to be separate from the door frame. Square doors should be avoided and lastly door should not be too high or low or too wide or narrow.

A square or rectangular shaped living room is the most auspicious. If the main door opens in the living room, try not to have it face a window directly opposite. The living room should not be on a higher level than the dining room or kitchen. If the liv-ing room is higher, the Chi from the house will flow to the visitors rather than the people who live in the house. Single level floor create and contain much more chi than split level floor.

The best placement for the kitchen is in the Southeastern sector of the home. To cook food properly we need abundance of the Fire element, which is found primarily in the Southeast which is an ideal kitchen location, Northwest could be an alternative site. It is better to avoid kitchen in the Southwest.

The ideal location for toilets in the house is northwest and should be avoided in northeast, southwest and centre of the house. This room should be small and closed at all times, also keeping in mind that the doors of the toilets should never di-rectly face another door, a staircase, the bed or the dining room.

The master bedroom should be one of the largest rooms in the house. The best loca-tion is in the south – west. This direction receives the least light, and is therefore suitable for a bedroom. The south- west quarter of the house is associated with the element Earth. As Earth is the most stable element, being both inert and inac-tive, so it provides the most peaceful and restful condition for sleep. If you cannot have a room in south- west, then room on

the west, south side or north of the house should be preferred, avoid south-east & northeast. If you live in a one room apartment then try to organize the space so that the sleeping area is in the south- west corner of the room. If your house has more than one floor, then the bedroom should be on the first floor, or higher immediately give a sense of protection from the outside world, avoid at ground level, or you may feel exposed and your sleep may be disturbed.

The best location of pooja ghar is in the northeast of the house as this corner is known as Isshan (corner for ishwar or god). This direction is rec-ognized as the point from where earth’s powerful magnetic energy is generated. North and east are less suitable and south of the house should be avoided. The ideal place for the alter is the east or west so that the person offering prayers can face east or west.

Children’s bedroom in the Northeast, East or Southeast part of the house is more yang, being a bit more yang will encourage our children to concentrate better, develop organizational skills and generally take their studies more seriously. If they become too Yang, however, they may become restless and yearn to go out instead. It is therefore impor-tant that you get the correct balance. When children are sharing a room, try to place the boys in the east and girls in the west to create family harmony

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IANS): The West Indies were battling for survival in the series after collapsing without a fight in their first innings and suffering a follow-on against In-dia on the third day of the second cricket Test on Wednesday.

At stumps, the visitors were 195/3, and still needing 283 runs to save an innings debacle at the Eden Gardens.

Darren Bravo (38 batting; 84 b, 1x4, 3x6) and Shivnarine Chand-erpaul (21 batting; 40 b, 3x4) were at the crease.

The Caribbean’s are already 0-1 down in the three-Test series after

a five-wicket defeat in the opener at Delhi.

In the second innings the Car-ibbeans put up a gritty fight with opener Adrian Barath (62; 105b, 10x4) and Kirk Edwards (60; 128 b, 6x4, 1x6) adding 93 runs for the second wicket after the early dis-missal of Kraigg Brathwaite (9).

However, Barath's essay came to a close in the fourth ball after tea when he attempted a cover drive off Ishant Sharma but only man-aged an outside edge, which was taken close to the ground by V.V.S. Laxman at first slip.

In the morning, Yadav main-

tained a tight line and length and got movement both off the pitch and in the air. In 25-year-old Ojha, India seem to have got a left arm spinner capable of flighting the ball delightfully and pose prob-lems for batsmen even on tracks giving slight turn.

West Indies lost Kirk Edwards (16) in the day's fifth over when he played for a non-existent turn and was adjudged leg before to Prag-yan Ojha, who got his 50th Test wicket.

The innings came to an end 140 minutes into the day's play when Ojha got Edwards leg before.

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IANS): The Indian cricket-ers would donate their cricketing gears for the proposed cricket museum at the Eden Gar-dens if the team wins the ongoing test against the West Indies, a Cricket Association of Ben-gal (CAB) official said on Wednesday.

"If India wins the match it will be our 75th Test win on home soil. Keeping that in mind we had requested the Indian team to donate some memorabilia like their cricketing gear for the proposed museum," CAB Joint Secre-tary Biswarup Dey told IANS.

"The Indian team have informed us that they are willing to donate their cricketing gear for the upcoming museum," Dey said.

The equipment will be displayed in the section "India's 75th Test win at Home", he added.

Chettri brace gives India 3-2 win over Malaysia

Indian cricketers to donate gear if they win Kolkata Test

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IANS): Star striker Sunil Chettri struck a brace as India defeated Malaysia 3-2 in the second international football friendly at the Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday.

Chettri scored twice - in the 39th and the 53rd minute and fellow strik-er Jeje Lalpekhlua added the third in the 47th minute. Mohammed. Sali Safee scored in the 45th and 59th minute.

The Indians played a free-flowing game and dominated proceedings in both the sessions.

The midfield combination of Baldeep Singh, Francis Fernandes,

Rocus Lamare and Lalrindika Ralte combined well and never allowed the rivals to settle down. Baldeep was a revelation in the central midfield played a crucial role while captain Rahim Nabi was inspirational in his new role.

"The boys played their hearts out. It's good to end with a victory. We did make quite a few changes in the playing XI and it paid off. The SAFF Championship is knocking at the door and we needed to give a chance to everyone to gauge their match temperament," said India coach Savio Medeira.

Gibbs could be interrogated again by Delhi Police

Johannesburg, Nov 16 (IANS) South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs, who was banned for six months for his involvement in the 2000 match fixing, could be interrogated by the Delhi Police again but his lawyer Peter Whelan said the cricketer has

already informed the Indian authori-ties all he knew in 2006.Whelan was confident that Gibbs would emerge unscathed from the 2000 case, also involving then South African captain Hansie Cronje, who died later.Delhi Police are waiting for a report on the authenticity of tape recordings of cellphone conversations that alleg-edly took place between Cronje and a London-based bookmaker, Sanjeev Chawla.Cronje and Gibbs confessed to the King commission in 2000 that they had conspired to manipulate events during matches in return for cash."When Herschelle and I went to In-dia, we made a full disclosure to the police," Whelan was quoted as saying by Business Day. Whelan said he doubted the quality of the evidence against Gibbs.

Indian footballer Sunil Chettri scores the first goal against Malaysia during a friendly match between India and Malaysia.

Harmeet, Mallika enter mixed doubles pre-quarters of World Junior TT

Manama (Bahrain), Nov 16 (IANS): It was a mixed day for In-dia at the Volkswagen World Junior Table Tennis Championships on Wednesday with Harmeet Desai and Mallika Bhandarkar entering the pre-quarterfinals in the mixed doubles while the pair of Soumyajit Ghosh and Manika Batra bowing out in the second round.

After accounting for the Puerto Rican pair in the first round, Desai and Bhandarkar defeated the Eng-lish-Germany duo of Gavin Evas and Nina Mittelham 11-6, 4-11, 11-3, 4-11, 11-6 in a hard-fought battle that lasted more than an hour. The Indian pair now has a tough task in round of 16 where it will take on the Chinese duo of Hongyuan Song and Meng Chen.

Chief coach Bhawani Mukher-jee exuded confidence in Desai and Bhandarkar saying that they can unsettle any opponent with their different style of play.

"It is not that she can't attack but she prefers to slow down the game which may not suit the Chinese whereas Harmeet plays an attack-ing game," he said.

Earlier, Ghosh and Batra beat James Pintea of Canada and Ellen Hwang of the US in straight games of 11-2, 11-8, 11-5 but lost to Chung Hei Chiu and Ching Wan Li 5-11, 7-11, 11-3, 13-15 in the subsequent round.

Players have to decide between India and WSH: Hockey India

New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) Hockey India (HI) has put the onus on the players to decide whether to represent India in the Olympic qualifiers or to play in the $2 million World Series Hockey (WSH).

HI secretary general Narinder Ba-tra said on Wednesday that the na-tional camp for the Feb 15-26 Olym-pic qualifiers is expected to kick off here in the second week of December and will go on till Jan 26.

The national camp is bound to clash with the WSH to be played Dec 17-Jan 26 and HI has already made it clear that it is mandatory for all play-ers to attend the camp.

WSH, which is not a sanctioned league of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), has signed up quite a few India players, including Ar-jun Halappa, Sardara Singh, Adrian D'Souza and Prabhjot Singh who will all be leading various city-based fran-chises.

"If any player skips the national camp, we will be left with no option but to induct juniors for the Olympic qualifiers. It is for the players to make the choice," Batra told IANS.

Batra's statement is short of a for-mal warning to players, though he said he was only clarifying the position.

Champion swimmer Thorpe stays positive despite poor results

Seoul, Nov 16 (IANS) Australia's five-time swimming Olympic champion Ian Thorpe says he is not disappointed about his recent performances and still aims for a medal in next year's London Olympics.

The swimming legend announced his re-turn to the pool in February after retiring in 2006. He failed to make the podium at meets this month in Singapore, Beijing and Tokyo.

The biggest challenge for him now is the trial for the Australian Olympic team in March next year, Xinhua reported.

The "Elftal" was shocked by the early deficit so that Germany were able to dou-ble the lead only ten min-utes later when top striker Klose headed home a cross to mark his 63rd goal from 113 international caps.

ShowbizNo qualms in working with Priyanka:

Akshay KumarMumbai, Nov 16 (IANS): It seems that finally all's well be-tween Akshay Kumar and Pri-yanka Chopra. Putting an end to reports about a rift between them, the latter said he is okay about working with the actress again. "I have no qualms in working with Priyanka again," said Akshay while promoting his forthcoming movie "Desi Boyz" on the reality show "Star ya Rockstar".The duo teamed up for the first time in 2003 release "Andaaz" and later featured together in "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" and "Aitraaz". Despite being a hit jodi, they stopped signing films together after rumours of a link-up started doing the rounds. Vipul Shah's "Waqt: Race Against Time" (2005) was their last project together.

Mumbai, Nov 16 (IANS): Madhur Bhandarkar's ambitious project "Hero-ine" is back on track with Kareena Kapoor stepping into the shoes of actress Aishwarya Rai as the lead actress and the filmmaker says the movie will be a landmark movie in Bebo's career. "She (Kareena) is a great star. We have always talked about working together and even discussed a lot of films but nothing materialized. But 'Heroine' is a great script and a great story. I am sure it will be a landmark cinema in Kareena's career," said Bhandarkar at the red carpet of Airtel Super Star Awards.

Bhandarkar's film hit a roadblock after Aishwarya opted out of the project following her pregnancy. “'Heroine' is basically a journey in a heroine's life in the contemporary world. It's going to portray how an actress reaches the top and how her life goes through ups and downs. There are lot of catharsis and traumas shown in the film," said Bhandarkar, known for making similarly themed films like "Page 3", "Fashion" and "Traffic Signal." "Right now, the film is on track and shooting will start November end and we will finish by March-April. Hope you all like it," he added.

‘Rang Rasiya' is reaction against attack on creative freedom:

Ketan MehtaKolkata, Nov 16 (IANS): National award winning filmmaker Ketan Mehta Wednesday said that his film "Rang Rasiya" is a small token of response against the persecution of painter M.F. Husain who was hounded out of the country for pursuing his creative freedom. "The film is a small little way of response and reaction to the climate of intolerance that was sweeping in the country five -six years back. What happened to Raja Ravi Varma hundred years ago happens today also. If you look at M.F. Husain, the great Indian artist was hounded, persecuted, prosecuted and thrown out of the country because of his art. He was forced to go on a self exile," said Mehta. "The focus is on the idea

of creative freedom. Is creative freedom necessary for civilization? I strongly believe that without creative freedom and freedom of expres-sion no civilization can do well," said Mehta. Based on the 19th century Indian painter Raja Ravi Verma, played by Randeep Hooda, and his muse Sugandha Bai played by Nandana Sen, the film shows how the legendary painter's partially nude portraits of Sugandha Bai irked priests of that era and kicked a controversy. Mehta Wednesday announced that the film will go for theatrical release in the month of February 2012.

George is heir to the £300mn Duchy of North-umberland. This is not the first time they are sported together. George spent a week in Madrid with friends where Pippa was also seen spending time.

'Twilight' cast are not best friends: Reed

London, Nov 16 (IANS): Actress Nikki Reed admits that the cast of "Twilight Saga" never got along very well and that there is no chance of them staying in touch in the future. The 23-year-old, who plays Rosalie Hale in the vampire movie franchise, says the relation among the actors has changed from when they started out with the first movie, "Twilight" in 2008 to the recent filming of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Part I and II. "In the beginning, it was in-nocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family - it was like being at sleepaway camp," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Reed as saying. "And then

success comes along and changes the dynamic. We're not all best friends, and we're not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done," she added.

Sherlock Holmes sequel a 'Bromance'

London, Nov 17 (IANS): Actors Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law have promised there will be more focus on the ''bromance'' between their characters in "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows". The movie is a sequel to the 2009 film "Sherlock Holmes" directed by Guy Ritchie, which was noted for the chemistry between Downey Jr. and Law in the main roles and the pair have insisted the sequel won't be any differ-ent. "Last time around, there was, for some rea-son or other, that wave of 'bromance' in the air. I don't think when you see this, you'll feel that we've restrained ourselves at all," contactmusic.com quoted Robert as saying. "I think that that's just a great theme. The bottom line is that we are in this love together," he added.

Timberlake enjoys comedy, terms it wicked

London, Nov 16 (IANS): Singer Justin Timberlake says he loves working in comedies because he finds it to be a "wicked cool job". The 30-year-old, who has appeared several times on American late-night television comedy show "Saturday Night Live", says comedy is a good way of getting over bitter-ness and rejection. "I'm not a comedian, so I'll probably get crucified for saying this, but I think with a lot of comedy the impetus behind it is; I've been rejected so many times and I'm bitter and now I'm going to talk about it," contactmusic.com quoted Timberlake as saying. "There are just so many things in the world that are a drag. For me, it's like, 'This is a f***ing wicked cool job!'" he added.
